//Hiii, thank you for taking time reading this story, it means so much to me!! This is my first fanfiction so everything is new to me lol, sorry if I mess up. I'd love feedback so if you have something on your heart let it spill. I try to keep as historical correct as possible (for example what kind of things that existed back in the 17th century) bc I think it adds an extra layer to the story. Idk at this point im rambling, happy reading!!//

I woke up to the piercing smell of rotten meat. I blinked a couple of times and realized I was laying in the household bed.

As I was pulling of the covers, I noticed how my hands and arms looked. The black dots were gone, and my skin glowed like it was touched by the sun, yet was more light than it had ever been before.

I was in awe, this could not be real. The last thing I remembered was vomiting what felt like everything I had ever consumed.

Slowly, but surely, while making sure my legs were not going to fail underneath me, I got up on my feet. Despite being careful, I had not prepared myself for what I was about to see.

Laying on the wooden planks was a black haired man. He was soaked in what I could only guess was his own blood. He was laying on his side facing the wall, so all I could see was the back of his head and clothes.

"He-hello?" I stuttered trying to find out if he was still alive. Who was he? What had happened?

I slowly walked in the direction of the man, I needed to see his face. "Are you..?" I said not really trusting my own voice.

When I stood beside him I reached down and grabbed ahold of his shoulder that was covered in a brown coat with bloodstains. In a quick movement, I got him to roll onto his back.

All that could be heard in the small room was my gasp, followed by my quick steps into the hallway. I stood with my back against the wall facing the black-haired man in the bedroom.

He was the same man I saw before everything blacked out. Who, what did this to him? There were no black dots or anything indicating that the plague had made him its victim, something else had. Something alive.

I needed to get out of the house. Whatever had killed him, it was not going to get me.

Just as I was about to walk down the hall, I noticed the same pool of water that I saw my reflection in the last time. I immediately stopped moving and just looked at myself.

My skin. My hair. My eyes. I looked fantastic. The skin on my body was not the only thing that had healed. I did not look sleep deprived anymore and my hair looked softer and better then ever before.

Who did this to me? Did The Lord finally answer my prayers?

Just as I asked myself that question, someone stepped into the light from the window above, though only enough for me to see their covered legs. Without the candles there was terribly dark in the house. Judging from the silhouette, it was a man that stood before me.

It reminded me of the dead man in the bedroom, and how I had seen him just before fainting. But this time it was different. I was different.

"Are you Jesus?"

In response, I got a raucous laugh. The voice revealed it truly was a man. His voice sounded kind of husky, but with a hint of something I could not quite put my finger on.

"No, but I guess you could call me your saviour." His voice sounded so calm. He backed away from the light and towards the front door.

"Who are you?" I said and walked closer to where he went. I walked into the light and immediately pain spread throughout my body. I let out a scream and flinched to hug the wall to get away.
