A fresh pair, a much talked about debut, adaptation of a blockbuster Marathi movie, and a renowned production house. The movie had more than just one reason to be discussed and debated at length before it's release.

Dhadak opens up to lakes and palaces, tourist spots and the cinematography succeeds in bringing out the cultural richness of Udaipur. Speaking of Dhadak, it is difficult to not mention Sairat - a Marathi movie that is now an all time blockbuster which took the entire Indian film industry and it's viewers alike, by storm.

The commonality between both these movies is the innocent, earthy and innocuous love story that breathes life into the storyline. The story progresses organically to develop the bond between Parthavi and Madhukar. You know the feelings are brewing slow and steady, making way for the plot to move forward.

Jahnvi Kapoor as Parthavi nails her character. From being the dominating uptown girl who has everything her own way to moments of despair and helplessness, she is admissible evidence of her rich lineage (there are moments when she reminds you of her mother Sridevi - particularly from English Vinglish). She is a breath of fresh air and owns the screen as much as she owns the movie. For a debutante, this is a  commendable beginning. She has the potential to be the next big thing if she picks her roles well. Can't wait to see what's next for her.

Ishan Khattar delivered his part impeccably. As the small town "trying to speak English to woo his lady love" kinda guy, he does a good job. A promising career in the show business awaits him.

Not to forget, the supporting cast holds the film well.

In the end, it is the climax which will steal your Dhadak. It will leave you gasping for air, stun you beyond your imagination and leave you asking for more.

3.5 Dhadak for this cinematic experience!
