My Brothers

Chapter 1

Mavis' P.O.V-

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I slammed my hand down on my alarm. Today was the first day of school and I was not ready. I got up and took a hot shower to wake me up a little. I changed into my outfit I picked out last night (picture above) and threw my hair into a messy bun. I didn't feel like putting any makeup on so I grabbed my backpack and headed downstairs. Bryson and Rowan were down there.
"Change," Rowan said and I huffed.
"I'm covered enough. I literally have a sweater on and it's the first day," I said begging.
"Just let it slide," Bryson said and I smiled. I walked over to him and grabbed a cup of coffee as I hugged him. Then everyone else came downstairs.
"Bryson said I'm fine," I said as they were about to say something. They all just sighed.
"Porter is driving you guys but you need to leave cause you're gonna be late," Rowan said so we all threw our shoes on and got into his car. We drove to the school and he parked the car.
"Ok first day of school. No fights and no talking to guys Mavis," Pierson said and I rolled my eyes. We all got out and all heads turned to us.
"I'm going to find Emilia," I said. Emilia is my best friend and has been since first grade.
"See you in homeroom," Avis said. I started walking to my locker when I ran into someone and fell on the ground.
"Watch where you're going," I said annoyed while standing up. I look up and there is a really hot guy standing in front of me.
"Oh I'm so sorry. I'm new here and I was just nervous," he said. "I'm Luke," he said holding his hand out.
"Mavis," I said shaking his hand. Then the bell rang. "Well I will see you around. I need to get to class," I said rushing to homeroom. When I walk in, I see Avis sitting and waiting for me. I go and sit by him and the teacher comes in. I have 3 classes with Avis, homeroom, art, and math.

Lunchtime:

Thankfully it's lunch already. I have all my classes with Emilia but she isn't here. We already have homework but at least I have my last two classes with Avis. I got my lunch and went and sat at a table with my brothers. Then Avis walked up with the guy I bumped into.
"Hey guys this is Luke, can he sit with us he is new here?" Avis said. Luke and I locked eyes but I quickly turned away.
"Sure I don't care," Porter said so Avis sat down next to me and Luke sat next to Avis.
"Well Luke, this is Oliver, Porter, Pierson, and Mavis. They are my siblings. Mavis is my twin sister," Avis said.
"Yeah I've met her," Luke said and my head shot up. All the guys looked mad.
"Mavis Jane," Porter said angry.
"I ran into him this morning. I bumped into him and fell on the floor. I swear," I said quickly. They all looked at Luke.
"Yeah it was my fault I wasn't watching where I was going," Luke said and the guys calmed down a little. I just glared at Luke finished my lunch.

After school:

I was at my locker getting everything I needed when Luke came up to me.
"Hey sorry about lunch today. I didn't know your brothers would go off on you like that," he said as I slammed my locker shut.
"It's fine. I need to go though you can't be talking to me my brothers will see you," I said walking away but he followed me.
"Why does that matter?" He asked. Then I saw Oliver turning the corner so I grabbed Luke and dragged him into an empty classroom.
"Let me tell you this. I have 6 older brothers. If they found out I was talking to a guy, you would be dead and I would be dead. I figure you're friends with Avis now so if I was talking to one of my brothers friends, I would be even more dead. So you need to leave me alone and only talk to me when you are with Avis and even then it is only small talk," I said as I walked out of the classroom and to Porter's car. I got in and slammed my door shut.
"What happened with you?" Oliver asked as everyone else got in.
"Nothing I'm fine," I said. We drove home and it was silent. When we got home I walked right in and up to my room. I sat there until Bryson called for me.
"Mavis come down here!" He yelled up the stairs. I groaned and walked downstairs. Everyone was in the living room so I went and sat there. "What happened at school? Why are you in such a bad mood?" He asked.
"I'm fine just a bad start but can we please just drop it?" I asked and Bryson just sighed but nodded. We sat in silence for a while when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," Avis said as he ran over and opened the door. When they came back, Luke was standing next to Avis.
"Oh my god not you again!" I yelled annoyed. All the guys stared at me.
"Mavis?" Bryson asked in a questioning but overprotective tone.
"Sorry, I'm fine. Nice to see you again Luke," I said and looked at my phone.
"How do you know him?" Rowan asked.
"He sat with us at lunch today. Chill," I said annoyed. I got up and walked into the kitchen. I grabbed a water from the fridge and when I turned around, Luke was standing there.
"We need to talk," he said. I just stared at him. "I think you're really pretty Mavis and I would love to go out with you," he said.
"Luke, I have told you that we can't talk. You're friends with Avis and I have five other brothers. I'm not interested in you. I have other things I need to focus on like my studies and sports. Not guys," I said and he just stared at me.
"Oh ok," he said. He looked a little angry. He just went and sat with Avis in the game room.
"Ugh!" I huffed and sat at the table.
"What's up with you?" Oliver asked sitting across from me.
"Life is hard," I said as I looked at him. He just laughed and walked away. Luke finally left and we had dinner. Finally it was time for bed and I was so tired. I walked upstairs and changed into pajamas and went straight to bed.
