(Kevin's POV)
Hmmm. Poptarts is here and so is Church, so if I can think of a way for Connor and I to leave, we can get them alone and we'll be alone~ Hmm...
"Oh! Con-...Elder McKinley! I almost forgot, could you please come with me to help organize my room? I left it a mess this morning and I was wondering if you'd wanna help me tidy it up?" I managed to think of a sensible lie that I thought whould get the job done.
"Really Ke-... Elder Price? I was mid convers-" I cut Connor off with a glance at Church and Poptarts and a wink. He got the message. "Oh, yeah, I'll help you clean up." Connor agreed as we both walked out of the door, watching Elder Church's expression that was a mix of 'what are you doing?! please come back I can't deal with this!' and 'thank you so much for getting us alone'.
As soon as we got out of the room, I quickly shut the door and slipped my hand back into Connor's. We smiled as we walked into my room and closed the door.
Elder Cunningham was spending the day with Nabulungi in the village, so we won't have to worry about him obnoxiously ruining a perfect moment, as well.
I lead Connor onto my bed and sat him in my lap, with my arms wrapped around him, and his hands holding mine. I nuzzled his neck as he massaged my knuckles with his thumbs. Pretty soon, we fell asleep in each other's arms yet again.
I honestly couldn't have asked for a better day.
TIME SKIP
(Kevin's POV)
"NO KEVIN!!! PLEASE NO!"
I woke up, hearing someone shriek my name. I panicked for a second and realized Connor has his knees drawn up to his chest, sweating profusely, and sobbing violently on his knees. My heart broke once more.
I hugged Connor, nuzzling his neck, hoping he would just wake up. It didn't work. "Shhh Connor, it's okay. I'm right here." I try to sound calm, hugging him tighter and firmly grabbing his hand.
Connor suddenly stops crying. Stops making sounds. Stops..... breathing.....
"Connor! Connor, wake up!! Breathe, Connor, breathe!!" I quickly say, a little louder than I should have. "Connor, PLEASE wake up!" I barely manage out before tears of my own start to spill.
I start getting really upset, so I stand up, facing Connor. Then I see it. A dark red spot appearing on his chest. I can't help but immediately start sobbing over Connor's hunched over body. "N-no! Connor no! NOOOOOOO-..." I got cut off by my own tears. "CONNOR!" I shriek.
(It's ok. I also hate myself for doing that.)
(Connor's POV)
"CONNOR!" Kevin shrieks.
Panicked, I immediately stand up grasping Kevin's hands, as I see he's having another hell dream. Trying to remain calm, I grab Kevin's arms and slowly make him lay down. I lay right next to him, wrapping my arms around him and placing my chin on the top of his head, briefly kissing it before doing so.
"Shhh, Kevin, it's okay. You're okay. I'm okay. It was all just a dream." I quietly say, hoping that I'm comforting him. He keeps sobbing in a little ball before suddenly snapping his eyes open. I pull my head back to look at him. A look of realization hits him and now he's crying with a mix of sad and relieved tears.
(Kevin's POV)
My eyes snap open. I gasp for air between sobs and I look up, seeing Connor's beautiful eyes gaze back at me. I can't help but start sobbing again. That hell dream felt so real.... too real. I hope Connor's hell dreams aren't as bad as this one was.
"C-Connor! I-I'm so glad y-you're okay-ay!" I exclaim between tears, hugging him as tight as I can. He hugs me as well, and comfortingly rubs my back.
"It was all just a dream, Kevin, I'm okay and so are you. I'm so sorry if I did anything in your dream to upset you, but everything's okay." Connor reassures, calming me down a lot. "We can talk about it, if you want, or we can stay here. Whatever you think will help you feel better."
"C-Connor? C-can we talk about this i-in the living room? I just n-need to get out of my room for a bit." I manage out, tears still falling down my face.
"Of course, Kev. Let me help you." Connor insists, lending a hand out for me to take after putting his hands on my face and wiping off the tears.
I stare up at him for a second. We get lost in each other's eyes for a minute. Connor quickly kisses me and then I took his hand. We walk into the living room, realizing nobody else in the house is awake. It must be really late.
"Kev, do you want anything, I can get you some water or..." Connor lets go of my hand to turn away.
"WAIT CONNOR!" I yell, firmly and quickly grabbing his hand once more. He turns his head in surprise, not expecting me to yell. "I-I'm sorry, Connor... I just... don't want you to leave..." I trail off, fighting back more tears.
"Hey, it's okay. I understand how you feel. I know about all the horrible things that can happen in hell dreams. Do you wanna talk about it? I'm not forcing you, this is your decision." Connor replies, so comfortingly.
I nod my head and Connor takes me to the couch, where I curl up next to him, firmly holding his hand. I turn my head towards him, but I look down.
"B-basically..." I take a deep, shaky breath. "We were laying together, until I noticed you were fr-freaking out in your sleep, at least I thought you were asleep. I just assumed you were having a hell dream, so i tr-tried comforting you... b-but then... y-you stopped br-breathing... and I got up i-in front of you, and noticed..." tears started spilling from my eyes again. "... and.... a-and noticed...." I started sobbing but continued to finish. ".... and noticed b-blood on your shirt... s-spreading fast.... y-y-you were.... dead." I finally managed to choke out before sobbing into Connor, clutching his hand as tight as I could.
