A/N: Thanks a lot! I've been busy the past couple of days and right now I'm sitting in an empty office because my power is out-__- so to make up for lost time....ENJOY! :)
I woke up again, but this time I was pressed up against the window and Niall was fast asleep. I slowly and carefully took the half eaten muffin from his hand and took a bite. I knew he was special. I knew that he was the one, but how the hell could I leave him like that? How could I just leave in two weeks? I was dreading coming out to Mullingar to see my grandma, but now, it seems like fate has intervened. I nuzzled up against him and played with his hair. I did basically anything to keep myself busy. I played angry birds, I replayed the past couple hours in my head, and doodled a cartoon version of Niall.
He awoke shortly to me with my earphones on. I saw his blue eyes open and he started to say something, but I couldn't hear him.
"WHAT?" I exclaimed, but suddenly he took out my earphones.
"You are on a plane, Julia. Not a rollercoaster!" He whispered, scream, and giggled into my ear.
How can he make me feel this way?
As the flight attendant made her way towards me, she asked us if we needed anything.
"Nothing for now, but do you mind telling me where we are and how long is left?" I asked.
"We are 3/4 over the Atlantic Ocean now," she said, "About an hour and a half to go."
I looked over at Niall who was carefully examining his twitter.
"What's up?" I said.
"Nothing much. Fans are so dedicated to me. I just wish they wouldn't care about my flights and where I was all the time. I mean, look at Harry and Louis. They used to do everything together, but now they cant because of "Larry Stylinson." I giggled. We knew it was true. The whole fan base knew it.
"Don't get me wrong, I absolutely think they are secret lovers, but the fans take them way too seriously," he says, "I love the fans, though."
I paused the moment for a second and thought about the way he said though. It sounded like he wasn't even trying to say it. Like it just came out.
Niall was perfect. I guess I better tell him now, than leave him on this plane after I leave.
"Ni- Niall?" I say while stuttering.
"Yeah, babe?" he says.
"I'm not staying in Ireland for long. I know you're here for your family and I'm only here to help my sick grandma. I just don't know how if we started something, we'd be able to continue it." I blurt out.
"Babe, I'm not staying in Ireland either, I've got tour dates and signings. I've got a pretty hectic lifestyle if you haven't picked that up. For god's sake, I ate half of a muffin. Where is that muffin, anyways?" he says.
I pick up his muffin and shove it into his face. He laughs at me and I lay in his arms. Damn, could this get any better?
The next hour was simple, and the plane landed soon and Niall grabs my duffel bag from above me. I smiled as his shirt slides up and his abs are revealed.
"See you around, Horan," I say as I limp off the plane. God, help me.
I check into the airport and grab a taxi to Mullingar. The driver is a man with a white beard and a fat tummy.
"Santa?" I whispered to myself.
Before I know it, I'm standing at the steps of grandma's house. The door is unlocked. I walked inside and see a pan of stale muffins on the counter. No one is supposed to be home. I walk upstairs and see that my grandma's bed is still made and the smell of her perfume is still lingering. I grab her keys on her bed and walk down to the garage. I hop in the old Mustang and start the engine. I pull out my phone to search for the hospital and I see a text from Niall: Hey beautiful, I just want to say how much I miss your smile already. XOXO
I don't respond. I put my foot on the pedal and backed up. As I'm driving I saw three woman with plaid coats on. New trend? I think so.
I final arrive in the hospital to check-in. The nurse directs me to the third floor. The intensive care unit. I Immediately shiver as I think about my grandpa back here in 2007. It still haunts me. I saw him take his last breath here as he whispered in my ear something about love. He said, "Don't give up, love is mysterious." I followed the nurse as she tells me to go to room 316. I pass 315 on my way, and peek in. I see a young man holding his brother's hand as the nurses stabilize his brother. I immediately remember my grandpa. I keep walking and finally open the door to room 316.
"Grandma? It's me, Julia," I quietly say.
"Julia? It's me grandma.," she replies wittily.
She always knew how to be positive when life was terrible. I admired her. I always did. When grandpa died, she found his old bucket list and she accomplished everything on it, but one thing. She never told me that thing.
It was now 3:00 a.m there and I couldn't sleep. I walked to hospital halls until I saw that young man from before standing by the food court munching on some chips and drinking a soda.
"Can't sleep?" I said.
The man turned around and immediately recognized me. I had no clue who he was.
"You're her." he said.
