Entry 2 for today

West Valley City, Utah

It's almost midnight but I got a text from Yuto's phone, I haven't told the boys because it doesn't make any sense. "Away from me. Away from me. Away from me. Mote it be." I don't understand but at least he's alive. I hope the others are too. We made it to the house and I got the boys registered for school. I'm dropping out, there are more important things for me to be doing right now. I bought hair dye and a barber kit at the store near the house while I was buying blankets and such. In the morning I'll be a stylist I guess and they will attend school the next day. I can do this without John and Taelor, I know I can.

I pulled myself up into a sitting position and yawned. Justin and Chandler were asleep on the floor next to me. I reached out and shook Chandler.

"No." Chandler rolled a bit, smacking his head against Justin's.

"Ouch, what the f..."

I cut Justin off. "I did not raise you to speak like that."

"Sorry." Justin mumbled as he got up.

"Let's get going." I said as I shook Chandler again.

Chandler slowly sat up. "If you're gonna kill me just do it before I have to go to school tomorrow."

"Nope." Justin shook his head, his hair had faded and his brown roots were starting to show.

I smiled and stood up. "Let's eat and get this shit done."

"Sky are you up yet?" Mark tipped in the door.

"Yeah, do we have any granola bars left in that..."

Mark cut me off. "No, and the van won't start."

"Dammit, well that's just great." I got up and kicked my blankets to the side of the room. I grabbed my bag and opened it violently. I took the cookie tin out and let the bag drop.

"Stress eating?" Chandler questioned.

I opened the container and turned it upside down, rolls of cash dropped to the floor. "I was saving for a house for all of us, there should be around 200,000 in there."

"Sky... how the hell did you get all that?" Chandler gawked in awe.

"Mark and I used to go out and pickpocket people for fun when we were younger, how old were we? 13? 14?" I asked.

"I thought you spent all that money." Mark leaned against the doorframe.

"I did, this is from the Rolex watch, gold chain, and diamond ring I stole without you." I shrugged as I gathered the money back up.

"Damn that's kinda sexy." Mark smirked at me. "I didn't know you were that so good with your..."

I hucked the cookie tin, hitting Mark in the forehead. "Shut it."

"Son of a bitch." Mark placed his hand on his forehead, stumbling back a bit.

"Justin hand that back to me." I held out my hand.

Justin leaned over cautiously and snatched the tin off the floor by Mark's feet. He handed it back to me.

I placed most of the money back into the tin and sat it on the floor. "I guess I'll see if I can get to the van running. I'm taking Jun and Ren with me."

"Why?" Mark questioned.

"Girl bonding time." I smiled.

"I keep forgetting that Ren wants to be a girl." Mark spoke, obviously not too keen on the idea.

"And unless she changes her mind, which I don't believe she will, we will address her with the correct pronouns." I picked up my sweater.

"Yes, ma'am." Mark said in a mocking voice before walking off.

"Alright guys, watch over that idiot while I'm at the store." I stepped out of the room. I heard scratching from above me. I looked up at the ceiling, there was a hatch.

"Can you get me an energy drink?" Chandler whined as he stumbled into the kitchen.

"Yeah." I jumped up and shoved the piece up.

Henry walked out of his room, his red hair was a mess and he looked like he hadn't slept. "What are you doing?"

"There's scratching up there." I pushed at it again.

"Here." Henry walked over and picked me up at my thighs.

"Thanks." I pushed the piece and slid it over. I struggled a bit trying to pull myself up into the attic.

"Be careful, the lady said that the last people that lived here were drug addicts." Henry looked up at me.

"Yeah, I will be." I looked around. There was a very faint sound, like a cat hissing. I looked at the piece of board I had moved, there was a petrified kitten, obviously malnourished, with its claws hooked into the board. It was solid white with blue eyes.

"What the hell is going on?" I heard Jun's voice from below me.

"It's a kitten." I held my hand out and the kitten shrunk back. "It's ok sweetheart." The kitten leaned forward a bit and sniffed my hand, its claws came out of the board and it tried to walk towards me. "Come here, baby." I gently picked it up and petted it.

"That thing has been up there for weeks, I'm surprised that it's still alive." Jun spoke insensitively.

"Don't listen to her, she's usually salty." I told the kitten.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" Justin popped into view.

I looked over the cat. "A girl."

"Awe let me hold her." Justin held out his arms.

"No, go find me a container and water." I pet the cat.
