As the year moved into December, there was a very noticeable change in Joanne. Paul was able to watch as she transformed from the quiet, weary person she had been for so long and become once more, the lively, fun and witty woman he'd fallen in love with. With the increase in energy came the long awaited return of her libido. She stunned Paul as they lay in bed one morning, when, out of the blue, she asked Paul to make love to her! Being the gentleman he was, he naturally obliged!

Their relationship was now very much back on track. Paul suggested that for Christmas that year, that they should have a large family meal, partially to celebrate her recovery. Joanne thought this was a fantastic idea, especially when Haigh House was chosen as the location. Early Christmas morning Joanne and Paul were lying in bed. Joanne was awake with Paul snoring softly next to her. Suddenly she came to a decision. She shook Paul. He grumbled in his sleep but wouldn't wake up.

"Come on Paul! Wake up!" she urged, shaking him even more.

Finally he opened his eyes. "What's wrong?" he asked in alarm!

"Paul McCartney, will you marry me? Seriously, will you marry me in the new year. No more putting it off. Let's just do it!"

He looked at her and started laughing. "Joanne Johnson, you've woken me up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning to declare you want to get married? Are you mad?"

She looking at Paul. Her face serious. She reached up and cupped his cheek in her hand.  "I'm only mad for you Paul, you know that. And I'm serious love. Please, will you marry me next year? I want to be Mrs McCartney before it's too late for either of us! If nothing else, this year has told me not to waste any more time. We need to take life by the horns and go for it. What do you think?"

Paul looked at her earnest face. He felt the excitment and hope flowing from her. He gave her a soft smile and kissed her gently on the lips. "You're right Joanne my love. Let's do it! Name the day and get married!"

She looked at him in delight. "Seriously?"

He nodded then pulled her into his arms. "Seriously." Then whispered in her ear, "How about some honeymoon practise whilst we're discussing weddings? We have to get every detail perfect afterall!"

Giggling, she agreed, and wrapped her arms around him and he laid her on the bed and began kissing her.
