Evanna Rale POV

The room was lit by the switching lights of the T.V, Clove kept on changing the channels with a bored expression on her face. She was lying on the whole 3 seater lounge, resting her head on hand. I was on the single lounge, slouching as usual. “There’s nothing on!” Clove whined, as she threw the control to me. “I know” As I went through the channels for millionth time again, I go through the info and see what’s next. I stop short on one channel, and my whole body is absolutely still, as I take in what I see.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. 

Five seconds go by that feels like a week, and Clove moves her head towards me. “Change it, I hate Chelsea Lately!!” She says. My eyes are glued to the television, I don’t move or say anything, as if didn’t hear her. Clove gets really annoyed now and throws a pillow at me - hard “Evannaaa!” The pillow hits me in the face, and I recover from my reverie. ‘Sorry’ I mutter. And I change the channel. I can feel Clove suspiciously eyeing me. “Want to watch a movie?” I ask. “What was that trance you went into just now?” Clove asks, ignoring MY question. I try to quickly come up with an answer without hesitating – I fail. “I... just... I...l... I wanted to see what Chelsea was doing... lately.” My quick crappy excuse was so pathetic, Clove burst out laughing. “You suck at improvising!!” She said with little breath she had, as I realise how my explanation was so pitiful, I start laughing myself.

Seeing the movie Harry Potter being played next, took me off-guard and made me realise something I didn’t before: I have not met any of Fred’s family, no let me rephrase that, I haven’t met anyone from Fred’s WIZARD family. I was so focused with my own problems that I didn’t grasp that fact that Fred was a wizard. Fred’s a wizard. Fred is a wizard with magical abilities. Fred is a frickenwizard. FRED IS A WIZARD WITH WANDS AND BROOMS AND MAGICAL COOL STUFF!

“Oh Evanna, you’re so funny” She finally finishes laughing, and lies back in her usual position. “But seriously, what made you zone out like that” My smile comes back, and I realise I haven’t mentioned the small little, incy, wincey detail about Fred that makes him so F#%&I$# cool. “Why not?” I say to myself “She is my best friend and she tells me everything about Cato, it wouldn’t seem fair to her”

“Okay Clove” I say getting up and walking towards her on my knees. “But you must promise me that whatever you hear in this room stays in this room, got it?” Clove’s eyes widen and she nods enthusiastically, she sits up and leans her elbow on the arm of the chair. “Okay” I breathe, and I start explaining.  

Clove only listens and has her fair shares of the “oohs” and “ahhs” in the story. “This is so exciting, so they actually have wands and are magical and stuff, right??” Clove asks at the end. I nod smiling, “Wow, that is so-” “Cool” I finish for her. “Yeah!! That must be so awesome to have magical powers, you would learn it at school, and use it for everyday things!” Clove exclaims, “I know! It would be so much better than the boring subjects we have to learn at our schools” I say as my back slouches “Bloody hell, I would rather go to magic school than our normal boring school” This surprises me, “Clove I don’t think you can say anything of that matter” “Why not?” She answers a little defensively. “Well you haven’t really had enough experience to judge EITHER of them” Clove rolls her eyes “First impressions are mostly right Evanna” This time I roll my eyes “Whatever, but still you have to admit that having a wizard for a boyfriend is pretty awesome” I say as I’m retreating back to my single lounge.

“Pftt, no Cato is so much cooler than a guy with a WAND” She teases “I don’t know, guys that have spears for their weapons are really gay in my books.”

“Well if you like the psycho type of guys with freakish powers, be my guest. Oh don’t forget to sleep with a knife; he might have spasms in the night.” I smile as we have this friendly-burn off.
