I didn't even look at her, just ran to my room and hid. She tried to burst through the door, but I locked it tight. "Tony, if you don't open this goddamn door I swear I will throw you out on the street!"

...
It was finally graduation day, the day I had been longing for so long. I hadn't spoken to my mom in a few weeks, but I really didn't mind. I was so close to seeing the love of my life.
I walked across the stage and got my diploma, while no one cheered for my name. But it didn't matter. It was all about to be worth it.
After the ceremony I ran to the park where we said we would meet as soon as it was all over. I waited. An hour went by, but still no Steve.
Then two hours.
Three.
Four.
And before I knew it, it was nightfall. I figured something must've come up, so I went home, praying he'd be there the next day.
But I was wrong.
Weeks went by, and I didn't hear a word from Steve. I began to panic. Our whole plan was falling apart. Everything I had dreamed of was turning to dust.
I couldn't take it anymore.
I knew what I had to do.
