Robin/ Dick POV
I was at the manor about to go to bed after an exhausted patrol with batman when I received an unexpected call from Artemis. When I answer she sounded like she was trying to hold back the tears but was about to break down.
Robin: “Artemis? is 3:00 am what’s wrong?” I ask her in a really tired voice.
Artemis: “Is Wally”
Robin: “What happen is he okay?”
Artemis: “yeah he’s ok... well at least that’s what I think”
Robin: “Artemis you’re scaring me.. What’s wrong?”
Artemis: “He… he break up with me” I could tell by her voice that she was really hurt.
Robin: “What?! Why?!”
Artemis: “I don’t know! He just came to my house and told me that it wasn’t working and that he wanted to break up. When I told him that just this afternoon everything was fine and that he was giving me the most stupid and ridiculous excuses he could think of and that it didn’t even make sense, he got mad! And then he told me… he told me…” she sounded like she was going to break down just then but she put it together and continues “he told me that he didn’t love me and left.”
I sigh and thought ‘Wally, what did you just did?’ my thoughts were interrupt when she told me “Rob, you’re his best friend.. he really was acting strange , he wasn’t being himself and I’m really worry about him.” I was surprised to say the least Wally just told her that he didn’t love her and she still was more concern about him than herself though I knew that she was really hurt about everything that happened. Who wouldn’t? They’ve been dating about a year now and suddenly he came and told her that he didn’t love her. I know that if it was me I would have been hurt too (and when I said happened to me I meant with someone else a course becuase that would just be really wierd and disturbing).
I sigh “I’ll talk to him. Do you know if something was going on with him at home?” I ask her.
Artemis: “No, he never talks about his parents. The only thing he told me was that his parents and he didn’t get along so well and that their relationship was complicated and that was months ago. Why? Do you think this has something to do with them?”
Robin: “I don’t know.. though he told me something about them being on vacation this week or something like that.”
Artemis: “oh.. well please go talk to him Rob.. I don’t want him to be alone right now.”
Robin: “I will, oh! and Artie?”
Artemis: “what? And don’t call me that!”
I smirked by her total outburst.
Robin: “stay traught”
As usual I was “attempting murder against English language” (At least that what her and everyone else thought and said about my perfectly good invented words).
She sighs.
Artemis: “I will Rob... I will… oh and Rob?”
Robin: “yeah?”
Artemis: “thank you” and then she hang up before I could said anything else.
