"I'm sorry about that, I'm Luke." He introduces as if I have lived under a rock for my entire school life. "I know, I'm Elle." I answer him, wondering if I sound as nervous as I feel. "I know." He smirks. "Really, sorry about hitting him, he just really gets under my skin and when I saw him taking advantage of a pretty girl in a dress I couldn't help but stop him." Heat involuntarily rises to my cheeks as he describes me using the word 'pretty'. Here's the deal with Luke Hemmings, he and his three friends from Australia transfered to St. Jude's secondary school two years ago. Being that they're Australian and not too hard on the eyes, they were classed as 'popular'. Luke has had numerous girlfriends in his two years here in London and he is infamous for his short temper. Luke and I have never really crossed paths much, until now. "Hello? Earth to Elle?" He waves his large hand in front of my eyes. "Sorry, I zoned out there. Thanks Luke I don't know what would have happened if you weren't there. I'm gonna get going." I smiled as I made my way for the front door. "Elle wait! I'll walk you."

"So tell me, what's the deal with you and that shit for brains Scott?" Luke asks as we pass under another street light. "Ugh, we were in a relationship for two years when I found him in bed with my cousin, Danielle. I was heartbroken and ended the relationship. I suppose he hasn't been able to let go and that's the first time we've really talked in three months." I breathe out. I steal a glance at Luke and I notice his jaw is clenched as he stares straight ahead into the black London night. "I always knew I hated him, but now I want to hit him properly. He can't do that, not to you. I should go back there-" He says quickly as I stand in front him and place my two hands on his chest to stop him walking. "Luke, chill. Its over and I'm over it. He's not even worth it." He sighs as we continue walking back to my house. "So tell me about yourself then, Elle. What's your story?" He smiles. "I was born on the seventh of September, 1997. I've lived in London my entire life, I have one cat named Cinderella and she has one white paw, I have one older brother and a younger sister, my mum is a doctor and I want to be a dancer." I tell the boy I've only been introduced to a half an hour ago. "You never mentioned your dad?" Luke asks as he turns his head to look at me. "He, ugh, died of lung cancer two years ago." I mutter. "Elle I didn't know, I'm so sorry." He looks at me with sincere sympathy. "S' okay" I smile. "I like your Cobain shirt, Luke." "Do you? Not enough people appreciate good music these days." He states. "Tell me about it, I love a good pop song every now and then but I'm more into rock or alternative bands. Nirvana, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Mayday Parade, The 1975, All Time Low, Sleeping with Sirens, You Me at Six and Panic! at the Disco are more my taste." I ramble. I look up at him and I see his mouth hang open in shock. "I've never met a girl who's into all the same bands as I am." He smiles.

We finish the walk in silence as we as we approach my house. "Well this is me." I smile. "Thanks for walking me home Luke and for sorting out Scott. It could have got messy." "This is going to sound ridiculously cliche but I was wondering if you wanted to meet up some time, for coffee, or something." He asks. "I'd love to meet up some time, for coffee, or something." I grin. He hands me his phone as I type in my phone number. "Goodnight Elle." "Night Luke" I unlock my front door and step inside. When I'm at the top of my staircase my phone goes off from my bra and I take it to read that I have a new message.
