Sitting in Rip's 'office' you had to supress the urge to cry and look away from him. You, Mick, Palmer and Snart had went a little off script during your last mission. This resulted in the complete lack of control which Rip was currently showing. He had his voice raised and was hitting his hand off his table. You couldn't look him in the eyes anymore so you looked at your feet. You tried to zone out. Tried to do anything that would stop the memories from your childhood from coming back to the surface, the ones you tried so hard to forget and repress.

You flinched when Rip was in front of your face, hands on either side of the chair you were sitting on. The thing that made you flinch wasn't that Rip had suddenly appeared in front of you, it was that he threw something off his desk before he made a move towards you. You instinctively lifted your hands in defence. When Rip was in your face you pushed him back. Hard. Snart was in the room with you when this happened and loved the look of pure shock that appeared on the time travellers face. But he also didn't miss the reaction you gave every time Rip hit his hand on the desk and he especially didn't miss the reaction when he threw the object off his table. Instead he immediately followed when you left the room apologising to Rip for pushing him and fleeing from the main deck and down the hall to the less inhabited corridor.

"Wanna tell me what that was about?" You hadn't realised that Snart had followed you until you heard that drawl. Instead of answering him you steadied yourself, turned around and shrugged at him. He responded by crossing his arms over his chest and looking at you with those icy blue eyes. You inevitably lost what had become a staring match between the two of you. "Y'know, I know what happened to you." You stared at Snart awestruck. "What do you know about it? You don't know anything about me Snart." You became defensive which gave Snart all the answers he needed. "You forget Y/N, that it takes one child of abuse to know another. We all recognise the signs in each other and you know you can't deny that fact."
