Sophie POV:
Being here with Edward reminds me of home. Not this home but the home I was raised in, where I can just talk about good old times. When he laughs it stops my heart and it's crazy. I haven't felt like this since I first met Brett. But it's stronger. I didn't expect this from a ball. I expected maybe some tingle or laughter but not this. This game out better then I could have ever thought. Or so I thought. "Edward" he looks up at me wiping off tears from laughter. "Yes?" "I want to tell you something. But don't say anything ok?" His interest is peaked "go on" "I want to announce you to be my interest at being king. What do you think?" I look at him hopeful he'll say yes. But he looks frightened maybe. I don't understand but then it hits me. He's here to hide. I haven't seen him one till I came out here. "... you don't want to be king do you?" I ask him shyly. I guess things don't go the way I want them to. He clears his throat and starts to stand. I'm guessing to reject me. "No Edward it's fine. I understand you didn't actually plan on becoming a suitor did you?" I look at him and he just looks down. "I understand. I apologize for being so forward." I see the time and look at him "it's getting late I must be getting back. You stay and enjoy the ball. You won't be found here I promise." As I leave he says "you found me" a shy smile lights up his face. I see he feels bad or something so I say "well I do know this castle pretty well by now. Plus this is where I go to breath and get away from things, you have a wonderful time" as I leave him I feel my heart tug a little. I tell myself I won't show any emotion as I go in. I didn't expect such a connection to him. But I did and now I have to announce my suitors. I have to pick three of them tonight. I guess I'll do that now.
I smile as I walk in and I slowly make my way to the small stage so I can speak to my parents. "Mother, father". I curtesy and smile at them. "I have chosen the three men I would like to have suitors." My mother looks at me closely and sees something. I turn and see Edwards come inside. My smile falters slightly but not enough to be noticed. He goes to his mother and brothers. My father looks at me and clears his throat. "Are you sure pumpkin? You seem quite smitten with that one over there. Do you really need suitors? I knew the moment I met your mother she was the one. Arranged or not." I see he caught on to the falter smile. So I look at him and show my greatest smile and nod at him. Although looking unsure he respects my decision and goes to the mike. "Good evening everyone! My lovely daughter Princess Sophie would like your attention please." He passed the mike to me, kisses my cheek and walks to my mother where he holds her hand. I with for their kind of love the one that lasts the distance and time. I suddenly remember I'm suppose to talk "Good evening everyone! Thank you father for announcing me." I give a cheeky smile and he gives one right back. "I would like to announce the three gentlemen I would like to be my suitors for possibly being my husband and future king." As I finish everyone cheers and a few whistle. I smile because their energy is amazing. I lock eyes with Edward for a second and see his eyes look away first. It hurts but I must continue "the three would when I call your name you may continue to enjoy the ball. Come tomorrow I expect to see you tomorrow here for breakfast. It is the best meal" I smile and continue "the first name would be Richmond Reyes" I see him in the back and he smiles so brightly it's contagious it's crazy. "The second lucky man will be Leon Lion" I have no trouble finding him, he's in the first row looking at me, he winks and smirks. He sure does have a seductive personality always making me smile. "And lastly the third is.." I take a second for suspense but it's really to see Edwards reaction, but doesn't have one. His face is blank. Is hands in his pocket. He doesn't even look at me. Just talking to him mother. Well she's talking to him but still. It hurt a tad bit. "Jayden Bravo" after I say the last name he looks at me. Slightly shocked. I don't know why but then I see why. It looks to be his friend. They high five and he smiles at me, Jayden knew how to keep a conversation and keep you enjoying the moment. "Thank you everyone for coming and enjoying this ball with me. You all have fun and for the three lucky men I hope to see you tomorrow morning." I walk away towards my mother. My eyes shinning slightly but she sees it and excuses herself while my father finds the men to discuss the details we already discussed. "What's wrong sweetie?" She asks so softly. "It's nothing mama I just had a conversation that made me miss home. I am slightly tired I wish to lye down. I love you mama" before she can come up with a response I've already walked away. They open the door soundlessly for me and a couple of other couples wanting to go home. I look back once more but I don't see him. And maybe that's for the best.
