You clasped your phone in your hands and stared into the screen; a green phone on a white background was the only thing visible and an increasingly annoying ringing sound was being emitted from the speakers. You hated the noise but you couldn't bring yourself to answer. The truth is, you were scared.

It was a call from Murdoc.

But it wasn't a personal call, it was more of an audio clip made to seem like a call. It was for the fans. And knowing that made you feel a little more sad because he hadn't sent you anything since he'd been locked up. You weren't even allowed to visit him... his excuse was that "everyone is a suspect!". You hated when he said that because you know that 'everyone' included you and you thought he trusted you enough to believe you would never do anything bad to him...

But he didn't.

And here you are, scared of pressing a button because of what he would say.

You gave yourself a small pep-talk and eventually tapped the screen... You listened intently to every word and tears threatened to fall as you heard his voice. You had always loved his voice. How it was rough yet smooth and comforting but confident. It was unique.

The whole message was about his new campaign; '#FreeMurdoc'. You had already acquired all of the merchandise and was the proud owner of the 'Free Murdoc Niccals Petition' website. So far, over one thousand people had signed it.

The message ended and you just sat on the sofa staring at your phone's screen. You didn't know how to react. Your phone switched off due to inactivity and you continued to stare into the black mirror, all you could see was your own face. You looked sad.

The front door swung open and instantly the house was filled with cheerful chatter and footsteps echoed through the hall.

They're back.

You remained motionless in the living room. The band decided to go into the kitchen to cook a meal, a long day in the recording studio had caused them to work up an appetite,
"Just a minute guys! I'm gonna check on Y/N!" Ace called out to them.

Since your friendship blossoms in the cafe you two had become quite close. You were almost inseparable. Russel said you were "joined at the hip".

The green-skinned man walked into your room expecting to see you at your desk or led on your bed but instead he was greeted by silence. He began getting worried until he turned to see you sat in the living room,
"Y/N!" He chirped cheerily as he made his way over to you.

As he grew closer you still didn't flinch or even seem to acknowledge his presence. You continued to stare into the phone's screen with a melancholy expression plastered onto your face.
"...Y/N...?" You could tell he was scared but you remained as still as possible. He was stood behind you now... he placed a hand on your shoulder and it was as if he brought you from your trance-like state,
"He doesn't care about me..." you choked on your own words and the tears began to stream down your face and splashed down onto your phone's black screen.

Ace was taken back by your words and for a minute he didn't understand... but then he remembered your conversation in the cafe and the fact that Murdoc's call was released today and he was hit with multiple feelings.

He was angry at Murdoc for making you feel this way, he was sad due to the empathy he felt for you but most of all he was...

Jealous.
