[A/N: I'm sooo sorry! I got caught up with other things and I didn't realize that I hadn't worked on this. It's nearly been a year since I last updated this - just a couple months off from it being a year but, still. Please forgive me. Also I'm putting music so you could listen to them as you read.]

After she left, I pulled out the dusty album. On the front it said 'BFFE'. Best Friends For Eternity.  Smiling, I opened the book and I was greeted by the smiling face of Melody.

I sat on my bed and looked through the entire thing 10 times.

There was a knock on the front door just minutes before I fell asleep. Getting up, I blindly made my way to the front entrance. I didn't want to wake my mom and Paul up, so I walked in the dark feeling my way around without light.

Once I got to the door, I looked through the peep hole. Standing in front of the door to the apartment was a girl with cut and bruises all over her body, as if she had been in a fight and lost. The girl looked at the peep hole with watery eyes.

"Please, is someone there?" She asked. "I-I need a place to stay."

Sighing, I unlocked the door and opened it. Then I saw how bad her situation was. Her clothes where torn to shreds, she had a gash on her leg which was covered messingly with a piece of her dress, and she looked so exhausted that it looked like she was going to pass out at any moment.

Her eyes shimmered with relief as a smile flashed across her face. "I'm so happy someone was home."

I looked at her and began to notice that she looked familiar. Blinking, I finally placed this girl at a point in my life. A point where I had no idea I was a demigod and the only one I could rely on was-

"Melody?" I asked, standing in complete shock. "I-I thought you moved to Australia."

"Please, Percy... I'll explain when we're inside."

I guided Melody to the bathroom and cleaned her up the best I could. "Mel, seriously, what are you doing here?"

She looked at the floor but didn't respond.

"Did something happen?"

She was still silent.

"You said you were going to explain." I took the makeshift bandage off her leg and paled at how deep the wound was. "What happened? It looks like you were in a major battle or something."

"Perseus..." Hearing my whole name made me shiver. "Please... don't tell anyone."

I looked at her glossy eyes.

"Swear. Swear on the River of Styx that you will not say a word to anyone."

I froze. How does she know about the River of Styx?

I told her hesitantly, "I swear on the River of Styx that I will not tell anyone."

Smiling, Melody relaxed. "Thank you, Percy. Now please, put your back to the door."

I did as she said and with a gentle flash of light, her whole figure changed. My jaw hit the floor at what I saw. She had a fish's tail that was the same color as my eyes and she wore a seashell bra. My face began to burn with embarrassment - I looked away - and half of me wanted to kiss her.

"M-Melody... y-you're a..." I squeaked.

"I'm a Siren." She confirmed, looking down at her tail fin. "This is why I told you to swear upon the Styx not to tell anyone."

Now, to be clear with all of you, she is my best friend from when I was only 5. She and her dad moved back to Australia. And... I might've had a crush on her... I-I still do actually.

"S-so... why are you here?"

"Percy, I need you to come with me. I need a partner for the show... you're the only one I know who can breath under water."

"That doesn't explain why you're all messed up."

"My rival. He wants to get rid of me once and for all. He sent his friends to kill me." She looked me straight in the face. "Percy, please. You have to come with me."

Sighing, I nodded. "I'll come with you. Just... I don't want anyone to know -"

"Siren's honor."

I looked at her and smiled as I gently tended to her injuries.
