Rowan.

It took us 20 minutes to get to Sadie's parents house. It then took us 2 minutes to pack the car in their driveway and get our bags. It took Sadie's parents no time at all to accept and welcome me into their home till whenever.

Mr and Mrs Hart have always had my back. They have been like second parents to me for as long as I can remember; Because of my relationship with my parents, I was always over. Mrs Hart even made Sadie clear out a drawer for me when we were 12 because I was always leaving some of my things behind.

After the Harts let me get settled in, I put everything right where I wanted them and went to take a bath to relax. An half an hour later, I got out and got dressed for bed. As I picked up my phone to check if Jamie had called or texted, the door opened a little and Mrs Hart's head poked in and a second later so did Sadie's.
"What's wrong?" I asked warily when nobody spoke for a while.
Mrs Hart entered took a seat on my bed and Sadie just stood by the desk with her arms folded. It was pretty obvious the conversation that was gonna take place here was a serious one. Mrs Hart was the one who spoke up first.

"Rowan, so you know I won't ask if it wasn't important in your situation, but Sadie told me about how this baby was um... conceived," I was astounded. I turned to stare at Sadie with disbelief. She hung her head, guilty. "I just want to know if you think the father of the child would be in the picture?"

"I've no way to contact him."

"Honey, do you think you can care of this child on your own?You would be giving up a lot. Are you ready for this responsibility?" She asked worriedly.

"I would do everything for my child, Mrs Hart." I assured her.
She smiled.
"I'll set up the appointment with the nearest clinic here for tomorrow, so be ready to get up early, okay?" She said, standing up from my bed and moving towards the exit.
"Sure, thanks Mrs Hart."
"It's my pleasure baby girl. Goodnight love."
"Night Mrs Hart." She walked out and closed the door. I turned my gaze towards Sadie direction.
"Okay, I get that you're mad but... I had to! She practically forced it out of me! You know how my mum is Ro!" She cried
Right now I didn't want to overstress myself and argue with her over this.

"It's all good Sadie. You coming with me and your mum tomorrow?"
"What kind of godmother would I be, if I don't?" She asked seriously.

I laughed loudly. "So that's a yes?"
"Um... Yes!?"
"Okay. Now get out, I need to rest a bit before going down to eat. Lately I can't seem to keep anything in." I said as I laid back down and closed my eyes.
"Don't forget to eat babe. Goodnight." She said softly as she left.
"Night." I mumbled softly as I fell into a peaceful sleep.

Seeing Sadie and her mum have a peaceful argument, as we all rode together to the clinic was quite refreshing; it brought back memories of when I was younger and I used to be so envious of their relationship. I wished I had what they had with my mum. As I stared out the window, I wondered where Grey was right now and what he was doing as I absentmindedly rubbed my stomach.
"We are there Ro. Get your ass out." Sadie ranged as she dashed out of the car.
I didn't even realize we were already there.
I smiled as I got out and followed them. Mrs Hart went to the reception to confirm our appointment as Sadie and I took our seats.

After an hour , the doctor came out and called out my name. I stood up and turned to asked,
"Are you going to come in with me, Mrs Hart?"
"Nah, it's fine baby girl. Sadie is gonna be with you so I'm leaving you in mildly safe hands." She answered as she unzipped her bag and brought out her romance novel.

When we got into the room Sadie made herself comfortable, taking a sit at the corner of the room. I gave her my things and climbed on to the bed next to the big monitor. The doctor was turned away from us as he talked,
"Mrs Winters, please raise up your shirt so we can get started.
I blushed. "It's just miss Winters but you can call me Rowan."

"And you would know that if you actually paid attention to what was written down on her report Doctor." Sadie replied with a Curt tone.
I turned to give a pointed look that said stop being a bitch. She responded with an eye roll.

I apologized for Sadie.
"I'm sorry. Sadie really doesn't have a mouth filter. She doesn't know when to shut up!"
I saw his back shaking with laughter and then he turned to face us. I couldn't stop the small gasp that came out of me. I heard Sadie choke on something; her saliva probably.
Am I in the right room? Maybe I am but he definitely isn't: He had dark brown hair, that was thick and lustrous. His eyes were a lightening blue, flecks of silvery light performing a dance throughout. His face was strong and defined, his features molded from granite. He was basically a man of any girl's dreams. He should be using that face for good. I looked over at Sadie and the look she had, I was 100% sure she was thinking exactly the same thing.
"It's fine. Your friend was just being honest. She is right though. It is clearly written in here and if I was paying attention, I wouldn't have made that error. I apologise miss Winters, I assure you, it won't happen again." He said firmly.
Sadie was the first to recover. "Oh no! I clearly need to be the one apologizing for my tone. I didn't mean for it to come out that way. Please let me apologise, perhaps over dinner doctor... ?" She asked in a flirty tone. I can't believe she is asking my doctor out. Silently I pulled up my shirt and relaxed, waiting for him to start.
He chuckled." My name is Nate Allen but it's okay miss...?"
"Sadie."
"Okay, Sadie. It's not necessary but thank you though." He then moved towards me, sat down and picked up a bottle in-front of the monitor.

"Are you ready Rowan?" He asked cheerfully.
"Yup."
"It seems like you're almost 8 weeks pregnant."
I looked at the screen and looked again. I saw something that looked like ...A Bean?
As usual Sadie opened her mouth. "Does the baby look like a gummy bear to you too, Ro?"
"Kinda does." I answered her.

Doctor Allen laughed a beautiful laugh."If you also listen carefully you'll hear the baby's heartbeat."
As soon as I heard the child's heartbeat in the ultrasound. Any little doubt and fear that still lingered in my heart vanished. With tears in my eyes, I fell head over heels in love with this weird tiny being growing inside of me.
I heard another sniff and I looked at Sadie and found her crying too. I reached my hand out and she clapped hers in mine tightly.
"Can we have a picture?" Sadie asked.
"Of course at the end of our appointment. Now I'm going to prescribe some prenatal vitamins that you need to take daily," he explained. "Symptoms like fatigue, nausea and morning sickness will be common but if your nausea becomes too unbearable, juts come back and we would prescribe some anti nause medication to help; though it would not stop it but it would help you be able to at least take food for a few hours and actually keep it down okay?"
"Thank you doctor Allen." I said as I picked up some paper towels to clean my belly with. He then gave me a card with his information on it to call him if I have questions and my ultrasound picture of my baby. He set up my next appointment for 22 weeks and told me I would be able to find out my due date and sex of the baby; even tho Sadie kept on insisting it's a girl.
After we left the clinic, I finally broke the news of me going to look for a job or two later today and even tho Mrs Hart kept assuring me I could take as much time as I wanted before I went out to get a job, this appointment helped put everything in perspective for me. I have to start from now to start saving so I can give this baby everything he or she would need once it arrives.

I made them drop me at a popular restaurant in town because I saw a sign saying, they needed to hire a new waitress. After 20 minutes of convincing them I'm what they need because I'm very flexible with my time: most of the people working there were part time workers because they were still in college or had children to get home to. I got the job and I was to start tonight if I wanted to. I got the job and I could start tomorrow evening for the evening shift.
Soon after I got everything I needed from my new place. I took the bus and I went back to my new home for now. Sadie was waiting for me, dressed in her PJs, with the remote and a tube of chocolate ice cream with two spoons in it. I smiled and dropped my bag on the table. She extended her hand with the extra spoon, I took it and got comfortable beside her. She put on some Grey's Anatomy for us to watch on Netflix.
"Did you get the job?" She asked, with her mouth full of ice cream.
I put my spoon in and got a big scope out and put in my mouth allowing the ice cream melt beautifully in my mouth before replying her.
"Yup. The pay is good too. In two months I would be able to move out and get an apartment for me and the baby." I told her as I focused on what Christian was saying to Alex.
"Oh okay." She became quiet.
"Thanks for today Sadie. I really do appreciate you an your family for taking me in and helping me like this. Without you guys. I don't know what I would have done." I turned slowly to face her as I told her all this.
She smiled so wide and replied, "That's what families are for baby girl."
