Out Of Time

Chapter 3

       I sure hope that this Captain Jack Harkness of River's turns out to be. If both, I would be running around the streets of Cardiff chasing River Song for no reason at all.

        I felt kind of bad because we kept pushing people out of the way, and  pushing and shoving really isn't my thing. Oh well, got to get to Torchwood somehow. As we get close to the Hub, River stops right in front of the towering building. "This is it," She says. "All we have to do is walk around to the main entrance by the bay."

        "Okay, but then what do we do?" I ask.

        " Then I tell them my name, and we go back inside to find Captain Jack," She states. "Simple as that."

        I follow her around towards the bay and oddly enough, she stops right in front of a door that I could have sworn I'd seen before. River knocked 3 times and invites herself in without anyone saying the usual 'Come in'. I hadn't even stepped through the door way when I heard River talking to someone at the front desk.

   

        "Why hello Ianto, never thought I'd see you again, " She says.

        "What do you want this time River?" He asked.

       "I need to speak with Captain Jack," She said flatly. "I have news concerning the end of a VERY important planet. Including our own."

       The man River called Ianto sighed and told her to, "Go, you know your way around."

        We thanked him and we stepped into a hallway that lit up with every step we took forwards, until finally, there was a lift. As we stepped in, the doors shut automatically and we went down, well, who knows how far down.

       When the lift set down and the doors opened, we walled out into a giant, warehouse/evil laboratory looking room. "This way," said River,guiding.

        "Excuse me!" Said a loud male voice. I looked around and found that it belong to a KK d of scrawny man in a lab coat. "What are you  doing here? How'd you get in?" He asked.

       "Professor River Song sir. I'm a friend of the Doctor's." She said all authority like. "We need to speak to Captain Jack concerning the fate of this planet, and a few others too."

       "Follow me," Said the man. Apparently, he must have been new since the last time River was here.

         "Okay, is it just me, or are you new?" River asked, reading my mind.

         "It must be you. I've been here for quite a few years," Said the man. Then he turned to me. "And of you want anything to do with me, just ask Ianto for 'Owen'."

         I was so disguised by that, I didn't even see the man sitting behind a desk doing paperwork. "Hello. . . " River says. "Jack."

          "What do you want River?" He asked.

           "I want 4 time travel watches, and 4 teleporters," Said River. "And we need to talk to you about the safety of this planet." I elbowed her. "And Trenzelore."
