Clifford The Big Red Dog (Chapter Twenty-Six)

"Caia." she said breathing heavily.

"Where are you?" I asked walking out of the room.

"I'm at mine and your father's apartment."

"Why are you breathing so hard."

"Some guy tried stealing my purse but I punched his throat and ran away."

"Damn." I said shocked.

"Why are you calling me?" I asked moving away from the door so nobody could see me.

"Your father is in the hospital." she began sobbing into the phone.

My heart stopped then began beating really fast. I could hear the thumps in my ears.

"Where?"

"The hospital next to McDonalds."

"I'm on my way."

"Hurry!"

"I'm bringing the my friends, okay?"

"Sure, just hurry."

"Bye mum."

"Bye."

I hung up and ran to the room bursting the door open.

"My father is in the hospital, let's go!" I yelled breathless.

"Let's go!" I yelled ushering them to leave quickly.

They all walked out without Niall.

He cupped my cheeks then kissed me passionately and softly.

"It's going to be okay." he said smiling reassuring me.

"Let's go!" I yelled jumping on his back.

He carried me to the car driving away quickly with everybody else in the car.

"Hurry up man!" I yelled at him.

He rolled his eyes "I'm going pretty fast. Don't you think?" he said pulling into the parking lot. I jumped out before he even parked. I ran into the hospital asking the lady there where he is while everybody ran in.

She told me bored pointing to the hallway of where he is.

I ran in there, slamming the door open.

"What happened?" I asked panting.

"Jack." she sobbed.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I groaned into my hands.

Niall pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing the top of my head.

"Has nobody called the cops on him?" I asked pulling away from Niall with his arm on my shoulders.

"I thought you guys already did." my mum said. Everybody nodded in agreement with her.

"What happened to father then." I said coldly, still mad about them leaving me with Jack.

"Jack crashed into our house and began fighting with your father. Our puppy got stepped on so I kicked him in the balls. Nobody steps on my baby"

I smiled at that. We were always suckers about puppies. We treated them like family.

"Anyways, Jack pulled out a gun and shot your dad in the leg. He tried aiming for the head but I knocked his arm down making him miss" she began sobbing again with her shoulders shaking from crying so much.

"That fucker needs to be shot!"

Niall pulled me close to him, wrapping his arms around my waist.
