chapter 3 the crash and the fire

Toby's p.o.v
Lyra was driving to the orphanage so we could see Y/N I was so excited!. We were talking then all of a sudden I felt a force crash into us and I then felt the concrete. I tried to keep my eyes open but I couldn't and I blacked out.

Lyras p.o.v
I was driving talking to toby was we made our way to the orphanage so we could see Y/N. All of a sudden I felt a force hit us and I see toby fly out of the windshield. I tried to stay awake but I blacked out

~when they make it to the hospital~
Toby's p.o.v
I woke up, but I regretted opening my eyes becouse when I did a bright light hit my eyes, i had to shield them, as soon as my eyes adjusted i looked around, i found my mom in the chair next to me. I looked around expecting to see Y/N but she wasn't anywhere around this made me sad but then I assumed that the orphanage wont let them visit anyone. Anyways I put my hand on my moms head telling her I'm awake. She opened her eyes and hugged me "I'm sorry toby, lyra didnt make it" I hugged back and cried.

Toby's moms p.o.v
When I got the news about the crash I headed straight to the hospital. When I got there the doctors already puts them in their hospital rooms lyra being the most injured I went to see her first. When I got there the doctors told me she didnt make it and they tried everything that they could to keep her alive. I cried and held lyras hand for the last time before I went to give see toby, when I got there my eyes were blood shot and I had tear stains on my face. I sat in the chair next to his bed, I layed my head down and held his hand and fell asleep. Suddenly I felt a hand on my head I woke up and hugged toby knowing it was him and I told him straight up that lyra didnt make it, he hugged back and cried. Soon the doctor came in. He talked about the affects of the crash. I nodded and asked "when will toby be able to leave?" He told me "after his arm heals, but he will have that gash in his cheek for the rest of his life" I nodded.

~on the car ride home from the hospital~
Toby's p.o.v
Me and mom we're heading hom now, we took the long way avoiding the crash sight. When we got home I saw my so what called 'dad' I growled "why is HE here?" "Hes your father toby" I existed the car and my mom pulled me close to her. Was we walked to the door my 'father' opened his arms expecting a hug and a kiss but nope we walked right by him "hes 16 he can walk himself and what no hug or kiss?" We ignored him and I started walking to my room "what me to walk you to your room?"asked my 'dad' for my awnser mimicked him "no I'm 16 I can walk myself" and walked to my room. When I got there I just layed on my bed and starts eating at my fingers. I saw something in the corner of my eye it looked like a really tall man in a suit. I looked over and he was gone. I was confused but didnt pay mind to it and fell asleep

~time skip to a couple of days later~
Toby's p.o.v
The voices gotten louder after the lyra corps incident they were so loud that I couldn't help myself anymore I grabbed a kitchen knife with a bandaged hands and walked up to my so called 'dad" who was smoking in the living room. I punched him so he fell back, I got on top of him and brought the knife up and over my head, I then brought it down but he caught my arm and yelled "what are you doing you stupid boy!?" I didnt respond I only punched him in the face with my other hand. Soon he let go of my arm and I stabbed him in the chest repeagivly he screamed in pain. As I keeped stabbing him the more his screams quieted soon he was dead! I laughed but that was intruded by my mothers scream "toby what did you do!?!" I ran to the garage and grabbed the gasoline and matches along with my fathers two hatchets, I poured the gasoline all over the house and in a circle around me on the woods then I light it and I welcomed my down fall when the man picked me up and said "toby this is not your end" i then blacked out
