Chapter 18: The Unexpected

"Bacon pancakes, bacon pancakes" I sang to myself as I put the bacon in the pan, making breakfast for myself since Thiago was nowhere to be seen.

I was about to get some coffee, when my phone rang. When I saw it was Neymar, I immediately answered.

"Morning" I said cheerfully.

"Morning, how'd you sleep?"he asked, laughing at me.

"Like a baby!"

"My baby" he said, making my heart jump out of my chest.

"How are you so charming, so early?"

"Comes naturally" I could practically hear him smirk on the the other end.

"Is Rafaella there?" he asked.

"No, why?"

"She told me to meet her there in thirty minutes"

"Oh, then Thiago probably went to fetch her now, cause he's also m.i.a"

"Who's Mia?"he asked, making me burst out with laughter.

"No one Einstein!"

"So you're alone?" he asked, not understanding why I was laughing.

"Yep"

"I'll be right over"

"Okay. See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya" I said.

"Sure you would" he teased.

"Oh piss off and get your ass over here" I said and hung up.

Fifteen minutes later, the doorbell rang and I opened the door letting Neymar in.

"Ney-Ney" I said, giving him a goofy smile.

"What?" he asked confused.

"Nothing, come here" I said and wrapped my hands around his neck giving him a hug.

"I missed you" he said and moved in to kiss me.

I was about to put my lips on his, when Rafaella and Thiago came in.

"Oops! Did we interrupt something?" Rafaella asked.

"No" I said the same time Neymar said "yes".

"We've got good news!" Rafaella said excitedly.

"You got something to deflate Neymar's ego?" I asked.

"I wish" Rafaella said.

"That makes three of us" Thiago added, smiling at Neymar.

"Now, there's no need to be jealous!" Neymar said, pretending to be hurt.

"Yeah yeah, let's go sit down" Thiago said and we all headed into the lounge. I had a pretty good feeling what was going on.

"So what's the news?" Neymar asked. As if he didn't know.

"Uhm...I'm kind of..." Rafaella started, and took Thiago's hand.

I knew it! I knew it!

"Kind of what?" Neymar asked.

"You know..."

"No I don't" Neymar said.

How stupid can a football player get?

"Oh my Gosh!" I squealed and ran to Rafaella and Thiago, giving them both big hugs.

"Am I missing something?" Neymar asked.

Oh my God.

"I'm ganna be an aunt!" I told him, trying again.

"Why?"he asked.

"Oh my God Neymar! I'm pregnant!" Rafaella finally said.

"You're what?"he asked shocked.

"Pregnant" Rafaella repeats.

"Excuse me?"

"She's pregnant Neymar! There's a little bun in her tum" I said.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yeah, we just came back from the doctor" Thiago said.

"How did this happen?" Neymar asked, still in shock.

"Well," I started. "When a male and female love each other, they-"

"No no no no. I know how it happens, thanks. But... I... Didn't you use a condom?" Neymar asked Thiago.

This was getting a little uncomfortable for me.

"We did! But condoms don't always work" Rafaella defended Thiago.

"Did you know condoms are only 97 percent efficient?" I said, wanting to sound smart.

"Well, what about the other three percent? They should put that on the box!" Neymar said.

"They do..." Thiago said.

"Oh, I'm sorry if I don't read my condom packets" Neymar said sarcastically.

Why is he so upset?

"Neymar, can't you be happy for me!" Rafaella unexpectedly shouted.

Pregnant women.

"I guess. Sorry for over reacting " Neymar quickly said and gave them hugs.

"We should celebrate then!" Neymar cheered.

"Good idea, I'll make us reservations at Lé Pettité Paris" Thiago said.

That night, we went out and had a lovely time. I couldn't wait for the baby to come. Even if it's eight months away.
