Chapter 5: Meet The Parents.

Seth's POV

I woke up to my parents arguing downstairs in the kitchen. At least that's where I thought they were. I kept quiet so that I could sneak downstairs without being heard and eavesdrop on their converdstation. What could they possibly be fighting about? In all my life, I could barely remember a time where they were having a serious argument.

"Harry, thisd is serious! You need to get checked up, this isn't something to be taken lightly. Think about what would happen if something was to happen to you. Think about what who would get hurt. It's not only you that would be affected; me, Leah and Seth would suffer along with you. Don't you have any consideration for our feelings?" she questioned him.

"Don't be silly Sue! Of course I care about your feelings; you're my family. But honey you have to understand that I feel fine and I promise you, if the time comes that I feel any pain, I'll let you know and I'll get checked up. Don't stress yourself over something silly honey." He said, trying to calm her down.

"Then next time might be your last time." Mom warned him, worry evident in her tone.

"You can't rid of me that easily." Dad responded, trying to lighten the mood that hung around the kitchen but to no avail.

I started to get worried. Why did my dad need checked up? Did he have a serious illness I didn't know about? If he did why hand't he told me and Leah about it? That is unless Leah already knew about it and I was the only one left out of it.

I snuck back up to my room quietly and pretended I was asleep, even adding in a snore for effect. I could hear my mom walking up the stairs, probably to wake me and Leah up for breakfast. i doubt she would get Leah to go downstairs because she was still moping about her ex-boyfriend Sam Uley. Sam had dumped her for our cousin Emily on her graduation dinner and Leah was heartbroken and angry at Emily for betraying her. I was mad at Sam. I used to think of him as someone I could look up to but look at what he did. After the breakup, I hadn't really talked to him since. Of course he did visit my family's supply store but i did my best to ignore him.

I heard my mom apporoach my room quietly so i made my snores even louder, because apparently I snored really loud, and so that she wouldn't suspect a thing.

"Seth, are you awake sweetheart?" she called out as she poked her head through a small gap in the door.

I faked a yawn and sat up slowly in bed. "Uh yeah, well at least now I am." I siad, smiling at her.

"Ok, well breakfast is ready downstairs so come down soon before the food gets cold." she said.

"Ok, I will, you know I can't resist your cooking." I said smiling at her. "Oh and remember mom, I'm brining Gabriella for dinner tonight." I reminded her.

"Yes, I know honey. You haven't stopped reminding me about that since the start of the week." She said giving me a knowing look and i blushed embarrasingly while she chuckled lightly and walked out of my room.

With Gabriella in mind, I thought about our relationship. We had been out on three dates already and all of them had went perfectly if i do say so myself. Except for our first date though where we encountered Embry Call out with the slut of La Push High Jasmine. Thankfully though, both of us never brought it up again. Things got a little heated between Gabriella and Jasmine but thankfully it stopped before it could get any worse.

Gabriella made me smile and laugh and she was fun to be around. She even sometimes managed to get Leah to snap out of her depressive mood and they would spend time together and do whatever it is that girls do.
