~the summer before ~
Lotus/ Yun Hee POV
I think I have a crush on my neighbor. The boy who asked me to stay with at the creek, while we watched the sky for hours.
Na Jaemin, his name is.
Nana, I call him.
Today Nana invited me to the creek again, but for a picnic this time. He told me to come yesterday when he visited while I ate breakfast, like he usually did.
A little while back, he offered to cook me breakfast, which I was pleased with, because the only thing I could make were scrambled eggs.
He made a whole meal that was literally four million times better than anything I could make, and it tasted amazing. I was anxious to ask him if he could teach me, but I figured that would be too much since he's already cooking for me after we just recently met.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" I said in the nicest way possible, trying not to offend him.
He doesn't look up when he grins to himself, "Us loners have to stick together, right? I can't let you eat eggs and instant ramen everyday." I chuckle then start helping him pack for the picnic.
"Pickles or no?" He said referring to my sandwich. I made a sour face.
"No thanks." I said as I folded the picnic blanket.
We headed down the path to creek, carefully stepping over each rock and hill. We joked as we set up our food on the ground, and skipped rocks in the swamp.
He told me of how he was a trainee for SM and how the school we were attending had a stellar performance program. He smiled so many times, it was hard not to blush. I felt so excited for the new year with him.

~Present~
Lu Na / May POV
Well then.Lotus just got kissed by Jaemin, and Vatsana refuses to come in, most likely because Ten is sitting in here with us.
"He just kissed her and, and, and walked out!" Nora was panicking next to me, Lotus just got kissed but Nora's handling it way worse than her. Go figure.
I sit next to WinWin, who is just laying there with a hat covering his face. The only reason I know his name is because I overheard it a bit during his conversation with Vatsana on the way here. I still have no idea who he is or how he knows Choon Hee.
I'm glad we left Taeyong back there, I was NOT ready to be sent to the principal's on the first day of school. My mom would hate it, too bad she isn't here with me.
My mother allowed me to audition last school year, and somehow I got in. They were so happy, but also heartbroken at the same time. My older brother already had left to move to New York City, so this was the first time she'd be alone without the two of us. I miss her every day.
"I refuse to spin," I remember the Canadian said, Mark he said his name was. He sat with his arms folded across from me, while the other boys from the dance studio kept pushing him to spin the bottle. I almost forgot for a second they were still playing.
I glance at Lotus, who was just looking down. Her bangs covered her face while her posture read 'Do Not Disturb'.
"I think I should go talk to her." Nora murmurs nervously. "She looks beat. I mean, I would too if I just got kissed by a boy friend. Wait, no, not like 'dating' boyfriend, but like, a boy who's a friend. And why Jaemin? He's too whiny for Lotus. But did you see it? He just, kissed her though!" My hand was on Min Kyong's mouth, finally making that girl shut up.
"I think she needs time to think about it, just leave her be right now." Min Kyong annoyingly finally settles down. "I mean, how would you feel if Lucas kissed you, huh? I don't think you'd want your friend asking you questions like this and that."
Hah, so that's what breaks her. "I wouldn't know, since that's never going to happen." She growls, turning to her phone.
"Hey," Says WinWin, who's now awake from his rest. "Where's Choon-Hee? You're her friend or something, right?" He says in a relaxed I-Just-Woke-Up voice.
"I think she's outside." I barely gave him a glance, and pulled out my phone. A mistake.
"Ah, call her for me please?" He asked me, and boy do I feel like an outcast now.
Nora just walked out with Lucas, and now I'm left with this weird nicknamed dude called 'WinWin', Lotus just got kissed with that Jaemin dude, who I'm pretty sure is her close friend or something, and now 'double-win' dude here is looking for my friend, who I have no idea where she is and how she knows this senior stranger. She might be having a mental breakdown for all I know, but here I am, far from her comfort.
Do I want to be here?
No.Was I dragged here?
Yes.Did all the people I know leave me?
Yes.Do I have a right to be kinda of pissed?
Hell yeah I do."Did you hear me? I said can you call Choon-Hee for me?" WinWin waves his hand over my spaced-face. I give him a death stare, not in the mood for his sudden interest in my friend.
"Why don't you call her, hm?" I made sure my tone was extra sarcastic, but he still didn't get it.
"I don't have her number, that's why I'm asking you-" The gullible boy says, and I just can't take it anymore after that.
"I'll go find her for you, how's that?" I think he gets the hint when I get up to go, finally keeping his mouth shut.
"Where are you going?" Nora says when she sees me outside of the hideout, while ignoring Lucas, who was tapping on her shoulder to get her attention.
"To find Choon-Hee for this dude, I dunno him so don't ask." I wave to her and leave as she turns to talk to Lucas. I look back before I close the hideout door, and see that no one is still playing Spin The Bottle. Except that Mark boy, who's begging others to play with him.
I walk out, realizing it's past curfew and I have to be really quiet if I wanna roam the halls.
Vat, where are you?
