Strange Events

Today is my first day of school, and I'm nervous. Not because I just got attacked, but because they found me. I put on my necklace and bracelet, thankfully Alfred cleaned them for me. Rule number one of living with Batman, never leave home without your utility belt. There is a secret area in my backpack where I put my suit and utility belt. The uniform for school is blue, so I'm fine with wearing it. I leave my hair down today, I like it that way. I head down for breakfast, and find Alfred made eggs and toast.
"Ready for your first day of school Mistress Jane?"
"I don't know Alfred, I'm nervous because I'm going to be the youngest person there. I'm only seven and I'm going to be a freshman, but I get to hang out with Dickie."
"Please don't call me that at school sis."
"I make no promises, I'm seven and I was traumatized again last night. You'll live if I damage your ego, by the way Thanks last night for the help Alfred."
"Your welcome Miss." I giggle at Alfred's formality.
"Where's Bruce?"
"Probably working."
"Ok, do you think I can do Trapeze at the Mountain?"
"No, not today Mistress Jane. Maybe on Friday, but not today."
"Fine, Alfred you are a party pooper sometimes you know that?"
"So I'm told." We all laugh at this, I finish breakfast, then we head to the car that Alfred is driving us to school in. Bullet proof glass, I get in and sit down.
"Dick, what's school like?"
"Hmm, well, it can be fun. You get to make friends, but I don't know." I look at him confused, then Alfred announced we arrived.
"Thank you Alfred, c ya later." We get out then Alfred drives off. I grab Dickie's hand and he leads me into school. Artemis, Barbra, and someone I don't know greet us.
"Hey Dick, Jane."
"Hi Barbra." I give Artemis a hug, and then go back to the protection of my older brother.
"Hello Jane, my name is Missy. I'm student body president here at Gotham Academy, I heard about yesterday, are you okay?" I unconsciously rub my neck where Joker grabbed me, I still have a hand print on it.
"Ohh, I'm so sorry."
"It's ok, I'm still healing. But I'll live, at least today should be ok." My backpack slides down my shoulder and on my bullet wound, I wince, Dick notices and then takes my backpack.
"How are your wrists?"
"Hurt, but they don't hurt as much as they did last night Artemis." I show her my still bandaged wrists, and then put down my hands.
"Well, lets get you to your classes with your brother." I nod my head and then follow them into the building.
Let's just say, being a rich kid who was missing for five years and who was injured at the parents event draws attention.
"Brother, why are they staring at me?"
"Jane, yesterday you where held at gunpoint by robbers, and before that you where adopted by a billionaire, and before that you where missing for five years." I nod then follow my brother. Avoiding people's eyes.

...Time skip...

School was boring!!! I can't wait to hang out with the team, then at least things will be interesting.
"You ready birdie?"
"Yeah." As we walk outside of the school, my hearing aid looses power.
"Dick one second." He stops and then I start adjusting my hearing aid, but then I hear triggers being pulled for a gun. My eyes widen and I look around, my enhanced sight spots around three figures all with guns.
"Dickie, there are Assassins." I inch closer to him, Artemis joins us out of nowhere.
"Hey Jane what's up."
"Assassins." Once I say that, the shooting begins. All the students start screaming, my ear hurts and I get disoriented.
"Jane what's wrong?!?"
"My ear, Dickie my aid lost power! It hurts!" I cover my ear to try and protect it against the noise. Artemis is backing us to a wall to lye low.
"Dick, what do we do?"
"I don't know, who's even attacking us?"
"Thalia." They look at me and go pale.
"Are there any Zetatubes nearby?"
"Yes, one block to the east, why?"
"We have to crawl through the air vents then run for it." We nod ok, then start to go into the vent. Artemis and Dick get in, but before I can, Thalia grabs me.
"Let me go!"
"Now now, is that the way you treat your mother?"
"Your not my mom, you abducted me and then trained me. There's a difference." I'm struggling to break free, I have my backpack, but it's on my back!
"Stay still and I won't kill anyone today." I noticed that the students in the courtyard are all at gun point.
"Let then be Thalia, they are innocent."
"No one is innocent, especially you!" Suddenly I hear something coming towards us, an arrow. I grin then the arrow hits Thalia on the arm she's using to hold me, she lets me go and I sprint to the two figures who saved me.
"Jane Greyson are you ok?"
"Yes, where's my brother and his friend?"
"Safe now come with us so we can get you to your dad." I nod then get onto Robin's back, he grapples out of here and then the League follows us.
"Dickie, don't let them take me back."
"Wait these people took you from the circus?" I nod my head yes.
"Hurry, there grinning on us."
"We are almost there. Jane you have to run, we can't carry you and go fast."
"Ok." I get down then run as fast as I can, to the Zetatube. Once we reach it, we all get in, as I'm getting in, Thalia's whip, latches onto my waist.
"Robin!" He cuts it, pulls me in, closes the door and then Zetas us to Mt Justice.
"Recognized Robin A02, Artemis C06, Blue J B03"
We get exit it, and I just collapse.
"They won't stop looking for me, Robin what do I do?"
"I don't know birdie, let's call Batman." I nod and we head to my room that I have here at the mountain.
"Batman, hello?"
"Dick Jane you are safe?"
"Yes, we made it to the Mt."
"Ok, watch the Gotham News." We rush to the living room and flip the channel to Gotham News.
"Due to recent attacks, me and my children are going into hiding till the threat to my children's lives is over. Today when they finished school, they where attacked. Thankfully Dick managed to stay safe until Artemis and Robin got him to safety, then they got Jane to safety as well. I sent them ahead into hiding, please know that I don't appreciate people threatening those I care for. Good day."
"Ok, so we are staying at Mt, Justice till it's safe?"
"Yes, Alfred will Zeta over with some of your clothes and stuff. Stay safe, you will still go on missions, but no other reason will you leave the cave."
"Ok, please kick whoever is after us, kick there sorry butts."
"Will do."
We end call there, and then I speak.
"Can I put on my suit?"
"Sure, but you don't need the mask."
"Ok." I run and put on my suit. It was hard because of my injuries, but I managed. I made sure to put my bracelet in my utility belt, for safekeeping. I tucked my necklace under my shirt then went to hack some files.
Even though Artemis is new to the team, I trust her. She's not the only person who has a past they want to run from.
"Jane, play ninja! The cave's been breached, hide! Don't let them find you! Artemis look out!" The call ends there, I'm worried. Who could have gotten into our hideout? I hear metal feet approaching, Red Tornado?
"Red Tornado?" Then Fire blasts at me, I scream and dodge it. Lucky me, I stole some of brothers explosive throwing things. I throw three of them towards the red fire person, then drop a smoke pellet, then I'm running like the wind to an air vent. I get in and cover it back up, then using my assassin skills, silently crawl through it. I find a data terminal, I plug in and hack the motion sensors. Next I disable the heat signature function, I also take the precautions and try to send an sos to the League. No lucky Zetatube offline, communications not working, I'm separated from Artemis and Robin, the others are missing, Wait, security cameras.
I watch the team try and fight, but I can't see who's attacking them or if they survived. I put on my mask, put up my hair, put on my new gloves, and make my way to the garage.
"Attention Artemis, Attention Robin. You have exactly one hour and thirty minutes to surrender or your friends will die." I gasp, rookie mistake. Fire surges through the vent. I scream in surprise and shock. I dodge the flames best I can, my ankle gets burned and it's taking every ounce of self control I have to not scream in pain. I remember something about my suit having like a stealth or assassin mode, so I hit the bird on my shoulder, then my dress gets a hood and I get a thingy that covers my mouth. I slip it off, and put on an oxygen mask, then slide it back up. I'm taking no chances, this is so if I fall in water, I can breath, if I stumble upon sleeping gas, or gas, I won't give in. I manage to crawl to the garage, I see Conner and Walley stuck as water is rising, Megan and Kalder are in a fire cage. I quickly grab a throwing thing that has a walk-in talkie function, I throw it by Walley's face.
"What the?"
"Shhhh, do you want to get me caught?"
"Blue J, your ok."
"Yes Now pipe down before they find me."
"Where's Robin and Artemis?"
"No clue, I don't even see you, where are you?"
"Not telling, Wait, I think I hear them coming."
"They are close, I can tell." I scan the room, I find them sneaking around by the main genorator. The robots will see them, what should I do?
I buld up my guts and then leap. I use my trapeze skills to use the beams for my stupid crazy plan.
"Robin look out!" My Head snaps down to my brother, him and Artemis are cornered. I jump down and glide to the robots. I throw two things at them. Then I kick both when I land.
"Get out of here, go!" I push them both into the water, then dodge a fireball. I retract my wings and then scan my surroundings, think Jane think.
"Jane look out!" I miss the fireball by inches, coming to my senses, I drop a smoke pellet and then grapple to the air vent I came from. I quickly crawl through it, then I get out. I need to stretch my legs.
"Forty minuets remaining." I walk till I find the training area, I hear water with my enhanced hearing. To late I figured out what that meant. I was hit by the tidal wave that just appeared. I scream, but then try to get my barings. Then a red hand grabs my throat. The robot brings me back to the garage, and I'm struggling to break free of this grasp.
"Let me go you good for nothing tin can!" He lets me go, I throw a smoke pellet, and make for KF and SB.
"You ok?"
"Forget about us, help Megan!" I look to see some of the fire cage, but then I see how high the water it. I undo assassin mode, lose the hood and and face cover, and then I try to talk with KF.
"Walley, anything I can do to help?"
"No, Robin and Artemis are on it already."
"Ok, let's try to get you out." I start to work then, I'm pulled out of my thoughts.
"Blue J, move!" I spin around, then to late see the water hurtling to me. I'm hit, but it forms a ball around me. I'm completely stuck in the water. I can see Conner and Walley screaming my name, I can feel the dizziness of lack of oxygen. Wait, I pull out my reedbreather and then I get air. I'm gasping and taking all the air I need. I take it out and fake drown. The bubble pops, and they approach me, I can see Robin out of the corner of my eye. Artemis to, so I spring into action. I jump up, and punch the red male robot in the face. It hurt, but hey. The girl flies up with the boy I jump to try and avoid their combined attack, key word tried. It hits me square in the chest, I'm sent hurtling towards the ground. At impact, some of the cement crumbles, and I'm on my side, dangling over the edge of the landing pad for Miss martians ship. I hear some noises, then blackness.

Artemis' point of view

I watched Jane take on the reds, she saw Robin and was buying him time. But then, they did a combined attack on her. I watched horror struck as it hit her and sent her crashing to the ground, her body bounced a bit then hit the edge. Her head and one of her arms are dangling off the side of the pad, and her other limbs are sticking out at odd angles.
"Jane!!!" Robin screams this, he was trying to finish the EMP, but I guess he saw his sister. I mis my one target my last arrow is wasted, I have to hop back into the vent. I watch them fish Robbin from the water, he drowned. I look at all my friends, I look at poor Jane sprawled on the floor, then I start to panic.

...Time skip...

We beat the reds, I finished the circuit for the EMP. They are now powered down, and the fire and water are back to normal and or gone.
"How's Robin?!" I rush up to Robin, he chokes out water.
"He's alive."
"Way to stay welmed." I smile and lean back, then my eyes drift to Jane.
"Oh my god, Blue J!!" I got up and rushed to her.
"Robin, she's not moving!" Robin appeared next to me so fast, then he started tending to his sister.

"She has a pulse but it's weak. I need everyone to move!" me and Kalder backed up, Robin picked up his sister carefully and then went down by SB and KF. Then he started to work fast, bandaging her cuts and checking her pulse.

"I've stabilized her, for now. Why did she not stay ninja for me?"

"Robin, she saved all of our lives. She distracted the Reds long enough for us to save the day, she protected her brother."

"Yeah but look, she got hurt in the process."
"Everyone dose." We all wait, then after like half an hour, Jane stirs.

"Owe, wha-what happened?"

"Jane!" Robin hugged his sister and he was careful of her new injuries, honestly I never knew Robin could be so kind and careing.

"Hurt, pressure on wounds."

"Sorry, Jane why didn't you stay ninja?" She sighs.

"Well, they found me after I watched security footage to figure out where the others were, second I got injured and found my way here, third I saw they where going to hurt you so I distracted them."

"Dude hurry up."

"EMP remember, shut down all machenes."

"All machines present at the time."

"Red where have you been? Why didn't you tell us about your evil siblings?"

"I didn't know."

"It short circuited!" Red Tornado kneeled down, then abruptly stood up. Next thing I knew, he was sucking all the air out of our loungs.

"Jane!" I watch Robin yell as Jane fell to the ground, I was the last to go down.

Jane's point of view

I remember Red Tornado sucking the air out of the garage, then I felt nothing. I hear muffled voices, I want to go back, but how???

"Blue J, Blue J please wake up. Jane!" I open my eyes and look around. Robin and Batman are above me, looking concerned, Megan is with her uncle, SB and KF are being cut free by Flash and GL, and Artemis is being helped by Superman.

"Why are you looking so glum? Did someone die?"

"Jane!" Robin engulfs me into a hug, and Batman looks relieved.

"Wait, where are the Reds??" Robin deflates at this, then looks angry.

"Gone, just gone. They disappeared, Jane we will find them, I will make them pay for hurting you."

"Hold it Dickie, revenge isn't the way. Sure they are evil, but thats why we serve Justice not Vengeance. Please, promise me you wont go looking for revenge, promise me."

"Fine, but your even more hurt now than you where before, Jane I watched them attack you. I thought you died."

"But I didn't, I'm still here and alive. Now, help me up please. I'm to sore to move on my own, and I think I broke something." Robin shakes his head, and Batman looks relieved.

"Jane your ok!"

"Yes everyone, I'm alive." Then I giggle, to lighten the mod, and because Superboy looks funny.
