You never thought you'd find yourself in this position: underneath Raphael, trying to escape him. You've been training with him quite often, however, today he went harder on you.
"Ya need to get better", he said, "otherwise there's no point in training. Ya can't always stay on the same level."
"You sound like Leo", you gave back and smiled.
"Don't even", he said but smiled too.
It started off as a normal warm up and practice. Nothing too intense until Raph wanted to go harder. Not as hard as he could, he still didn't want to hurt you, but enough to make you feel like you were actually attacked by the Foot, the Kraang or even Shredder.
"That's not fair", you gasped underneath him, "you're tall and stronger than me!"
It almost sounded like whining and yes you were close to call it quits. But you didn't want to give him that satisfaction.
"Alright", he sighed and got up.
He helped you get up as well and took a look at you. You nodded, telling him that you were fine.
"One more time", he said, "but this time I'm really gonna try to hit ya, so be careful and watch out. Okay?"
You knew it hurt him to even pretend he'd hit you. But both of you knew it needed to be done. You've done self-defense for a while now and were confident you could dodge his fist. Before you could start though, someone knocked on the door: Leo.
"You need to be done in five minutes. We need the dojo for meditation", he said and smiled.
"Sure", you nodded and he left again.
Raph however wasn't smiling.
"Fuckin' Leo", he murmured.
"It's nothing serious Raph, we'll be done soon anyway", you said.
"It's not that. He always walks around, acting bossy and shit", Raph explained, "I hate it. As if he couldn't wait 10 minutes longer to get the fucking dojo."
Raph and his anger issues. He didn't lose his temper as quickly as he used to, ever since he met you, but still. Leo always found a way to get under his skin.
"Come on, you wanted to hit me", you teased.
"You make it sound bad, baby girl", he said.
"Whatever, let's practice", you shrugged.
And then Raph did something that he never did: just before punching he talked. Mumbled to be fair.
"Goddamn Leo!"
It totally threw you off and you couldn't move at all. Your own boyfriend punched you in the face. Not hard, but enough to make you fall down.
"OH MY GOD", he yelled and immediately came closer to you.
"What the ...", you said and torched your lip.
It was bleeding and you felt dizzy. And to top all of that you started crying, making Raph feel like the worst person in the world.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it", he said and touched your arm.
"Don't touch me."
His eyes widened and he backed off. He hurt you and now you don't to be near him anymore.
"You fucking hit me", you said in disbelief.
"I didn't mean to, I swear. I'm so sorry", he repeated.
You took a deep breath and tried to focus. Technically it wasn't his fault. It was yours for not moving, but then again, why did he have to talk? Fuck.
"It's okay", you whispered.
"No it's not", he said and got up.
He knew you didn't want him near so he did the next best thing: pacing around.
"I ... I should have been more careful. I never meant to hurt you, you know that!"
"Yeah I know!"
"But do you really? Fuck. Ever since I met you I told myself I'd never hurt this girl. Not physically, not mentally, not on purpose and not by accident. And now look at you. Fuck I'm such an asshole", he explained with tears in his eyes.
You couldn't believe it. Of course you've seen him cry before, you were usually the one drying his tears. But you've never seen him cry because of you and when you didn't say anything he just kept on.
"You're my everything, my life. I don't want to lose you", he said and shook his head, "but now ... I'd understand if you want to leave me."
"Raph", you said.
He didn't look at you and ignored you. He was so in trance that he probably didn't even realize that you were crying too.
"Raphie", you repeated.
He finally looked at you, still sitting on the floor. He saw the tears on your cheeks and stood up slowly, not knowing if you want him or not.
"Hold me, please", you told him.
You didn't even have to ask twice. He was with you within a few seconds, holding you close, sobbing into your hair.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you", he sobbed.
"I know. Don't worry about it. I'm fine", you gave back.
"I love you so much", he said.
"I love you too."
You were sitting there, holding him close and assuring him that you'd never let go. That was, until Leo stormed in and wanted to meditate.
