david
i walked side by side with simon, towards the back door leading to the judges' panel. simon intertwined his fingers into mine, his thumb running up and down the side of my finger. i shook a bit. my mind wandered to darker times.
"fuck you! you gay shit! what the bloody hell are you doing?! let go of me, david!", a toned man, a hooker, yelled, "it was a one night stand! let me go!" i sobbed holding his arm, preventing him from leaving. "p-pl-please don't lea-leave me alone with th-them!" i sobbed, capturing my trembling lip in my teeth. "with who?! there's no one here, you bastard!"
"wit-with my demons. they'll ki-kill me! i love you! don't lea-leave me!"
i was shaking so badly, i dropped my cup of tea. simon flinched, looking at me nothing but concern written on his face. "david! are you alright?", he cupped my face, catching the tears. i took a shaky breath before turning to simon, "do y-you really love me?'', i whispered.
"oh david..", simon murmured, his thumb skimming my cheeks wiping away tears. i threw myself into his arms, shaking like an abused dog. in a way i was. abused by my former lovers, words, my own demons. simon cradled me, murmuring things i couldn't make out.
