I saw nothing but black. But I heard a beeping noise. Then I heard somebody...
Crying?
I realized the person crying was....Kody....
I tried my best to open my eyes but I guess I'm too weak.
I heard a door open.
"Kody? Right?" A man said calmly.
I heard nothing.
"Your friend, Lumine, was crushed by the truck. He has many broken bones but seem to heal very quickly."
All I heard was a sigh.
I was finally able to slightly open my eyes. I turned and saw Kody. Tears running down his face. The man, that turned out to be a doctor, reached into his pockets. He took out a video game that is a bit burnt and damaged. And handed it to Kody, " Your friend hid this inside his hoodie. I'm sure that he was trying to protect it."
Kody saw the video game he was trying to get. His eyes glowed, followed by tears of joy.
He opened the cover. He saw the note.
He took his time and read it.
More tears rolled down his neck.
The doctor then asked, "Does your guardian know about this?"
Kody nodded
Kody finally noticed that I was awake. He hugged me so tight.
I let out a snicker. The doctor left and after a few minutes of thank you's and your welcome's, the nurse came in with the food. I was starving!
The nurse was quite surprised that I was awake for some reason. Everyone was. I munched down the food as soon as it was set down on my bed.
An hour later of watching YouTube videos on Kody's phone. Aiden barged in and hugged me tighter than Kody did.
Aiden was then smacked once again, but this time, by Kody, "What are you thinking Dad?!? You could have crushed his bones too!"
