he didn't want to waste his opportunity just because his mother had insecurities and was trying to protect him from them. the teenager quietly packed some things into his backpack, stealthily leaving the house where he lived with his family.

he walked the short distance to his best friend soohyun's house, who was also the son of one of his father's friends, kim namjoon.

"so what do you plan to do?" soohyun asked him as haneul told him the story.

"i'm going to be on that show, no matter what."
