The simplistic houses pass her by - each second adding to the memories of her childhood the memories of a time when life was better. A small smile flashes onto your pale face, as her mind tries to push back the thoughts of saddness and loss. Her smile was fake, formed to make the world believe the perfect lie, that she was 'fine'.
Her actions that she constantly called 'an accident' became a chance for her to leave it all behind. To escape from the sufficanting day to day she had called her life. She needed to leave everyone behind just for abit, and abit turned into a year which turned into 6. There was nothing more she could do to stay away, she had completed her time away and was needed back at home.
She wanted to be with her mother for abit longer before she said her goodbyes and left forever, never looking back.
"Ma'am?" The elderly man who was sitting in the drivers seat pulled her out of her trance - Her Taxi Driver. There eyes locking for a second as he motioned out the window. She followed his eyes to where he was motioning to.
A wooden and brick house sit infront of her. The farmiliar white doors and large welcoming windows bringing memories she had tried so hard to suppress. The haunting red truck sitting in the driveway caused the air to catch in her throat
"No, its the next one across." She corrected the driver. She had fond memories of that house but memories that were balnketed in memories she had worked so hard to not remember. The Taxi driver quickly nods his head before driving one house down. The fence and beautiful lush gardan is all you can see. Like a mask over the horrors that wait inside. The large concret house standing tall at the centre.
The childhood house held so many memories that she had tried so hard to forget. A real smile spread across her face when she saw the famailair female figure sitting on the porch step waiting her arrival. Her brown hair sitting in waves down her slender shoulder and her light olive skin glowing in the setting sun, Her mother. Her golden brown eyes lighting up as the Taxi stops.
"Thank you." She hands the driver the required amount before closing the door and making her up the houses path. She dropped her bags half way and jumped into her mothers waiting arms. A feeling she had tried so hard to refind rushed through her body. A feeling of warm and safety? or maybe of panic?
"I missed you so much Rachel." Her mother whispered lovingly into her daughters ear. Huging her tighter as if she might disappear again.

Rachel had entered her room that had chanegd since the day she left it. Her mother keeping it exactly the same.
She was tired, so she sat on her bed simply refamilairisng herself with her own bedroom. Time passed quicker then Rachel expected as the sun had hit the horizion and the natural light that entered through her window began to vanish.
As she sat there almost in a daze, a light knock caught he rtatention. Her mother slowly opens the door before peaking her head through. She slowly searches the room for her as if she herself is remembering memories. She slowly enters the room and walks towards Rachel. She sat on the bed beside her causing ti to sink and mould to her wight.
"Im gonna be out for the night Rach." Her mother said, Rachel raised and eyebrow at her knwoingly.
When Rachels mother 'went out for the night' it meant she was gonna be drinking.
"There is food in the fridge for when your hungry and be sure you gon to bed early as youve got school tomorrow." Rachel groans in realization that she would have to go back to school and see people she never wished to see again.
"You font have to go Rachel, if your not ready to -" She quickly added as if knowing her daughter was anxious of the idea.
"No, I'll go." Rachel cut her mother off, knowing shed have to face evryone and the rumours sooner or later.
Rachel know her mother wanted to go out and drink, and frankly she understood that. Sadly she couldnt help but feel it was her fault because its her mothers way of coping or forgetting what happened to upset her. And Rachels decision from her past upsets her.
"Go!" She tells her mother. pushing her playfully off the bed. They giggle for a moment, and for that moment it was pure.
Her mother began out her door before she quickly turns her head.
"I love you, dont forget that." Her mother spoke warmly
"I love you too."
The house was silent. The last thing Rachel heard was the car leaving the driveway and sadly that was reassuring that she was actually gone. She didnt wnat to be awake when her mother got back drunk and not herself.
She sat silently on her bed as she waited for her body to feel something other then tired but after an hour tauntingly ticked by she decided she wouldnt eat and would simply go to sleep. Turning off the light she layed on her bed looking at the ceiling, her eyes slowly anyalising the photos that decorated her walls and finally come to look at the large window that sat in the centre of her wall. She stared dazed at the wundow remebering a time when things were less complicated - rememebering a childhood full of love, betrayal and loss.

Rachel looked through the window blankly for hours, her mind racing with memories. Pieces of a time when she happy.
But unaware to Rachel she wasnt the only one dazed out her window.
Axel Mull, the boy next door. He was the golden children of the town. Popular, good looking and extremely athletic. He was stuck in a similar daze through his own window.
Hoping to see his once best friend and now disappeared strangers beautiful face through the glass. Longing for when their childhood was simple and joyful.
But Axel didnt know that she was infact in her room, thinking similar thoughts as him.
He didnt know that his life was so dull without her in it. That his life would fall apart without her.
He didnt know that the puppy love he had felt when they were younger had only grown through the years and he had simply just pushed the feelings down within the back of his mind.
No one took her place in his heart, he had always tried to place someone on a higher pedestal, but they always crumbled before his eyes. To him, she was perfection and no one could measure to her standards. No one was ever going to be more beautiful, kind, caring, compassionate as her.
And he would never admit how scared he was back then, of how he'd break, how he would only lead her down the same path as his mother, being left to raise children alone, he felt unreliable, so he blocked her off, left to her own demise, to her own dangerous mind, left her to self destruct - but he didn't know that.
Rachel closes her eyes, letting sleep consume her, dreaming of the day he had betrayed her, but he dreamed of how he saved her.
