After Nathaniel's ridiculous accusation, my mind was filled with fury and rage. How could Nathaniel accuse me of something so idiotic and stupid! If I could, I would freeze him in front of Fay and make her scream. Instead, I decided to read my head off so clear my head. When I arrived to the Royal Library, I'd forgotten how many books there were. "How am I suppose to find a decent book when there are almost a million books in one room." I sighed.
"I think you know how." A voice said to me. I turned around to see no one there. I looked around, scared and confused. Suddenly, a faint silver light appeared in front of me. But this one felt a little different from the gold light. While the gold light was filled with warmth, this silver light was filled with an all-knowing and friendly feeling. Suddenly, I see a little flying creature in front of me. This creature appeared to look like a normal female, except with for the silver sparkling skin, ivory wings, ruby red hair, and a dress made up of blue magnolia flowers. "Hello, young priestess." The creature welcomed.
"Um, hello. And who may you be?" I asked nervously.
The little creatured giggled in what it seemed to be amusement "I am your companion, or course!"
I looked at it strangly. "Um, what do you mean by 'companion'?" I asked.
"You see, before the priestesses were destroyed, they had us fairies be their companion. Each priestess had a different kind of fairy." The fairy explained. "I've been waiting forever for the next priestess to come, and finally, I've found my master!" The fairy cheered as she flew a spiral. She must've done too many spirals, because soon she was so dizzy she bumped into my chest. I laughed at her clumsyness. "Okay, then. So what's your name?" I aksed her.
"I don't have one. Your suppose to give me one." The fairy said. I thought about it for a moment, looking at the fairy. Suddenly, I remembered a fairy tale my mom about a girl named Alice who fell into a rabbit hole and into a magical world. I thought of her as a wild kind of girl, kind of like this fairy. "How about Alice?" I offered.
"Perfect! I love it! I have a name now!" Alice cheered. She gave me hug, on the nose since she was small, and she screamed of exictement.
"So what kind of fairy are you, Alice?" I asked her.
"I am the fairy of shape shifting. I can change my shape, duplicate objects, and sometimes invent object." Alice explained.
"Okay then, welcome to my life, Alice." I welcomed. She smiled in happiness and she squealed. I decided to leave the library and show Alice around from the Dining Hall to my room, which was mysteriously clean after Nathaniel trashed it. Suddenly, I see Fay running down the hall. "Oh, no! It's Princess Pain!" I panicked. "Quick, Alice! Change into something!" Alice quickly clapped her hands and changed into a gray kitten. I caught her in my arms, just as Fay arrived. "Finally, I've found you!" Fay gasped. "God, a princess shouldn't have to run!" She gasped, trying to inhale some air, even though she wasn't sweating one bit. "What do you need, Your Highness?" I asked.
"Nathaniel is looking for you. He is in need of your service." Fay informed me. I was so distracted by Alice I forgot all about Nathaniel. I bowed at Fay and asked, "Where is he?"
"In the Training Hall with the guests." Fay replied. Suddenly, she noticed that I was holding Alice and gasped. "What an adorable kitten! May I hold it?" She asked.
"I dont think that's a good idea." I warned.
"Okay, I'll rephrase my self. I command you to hand over the kitten." Fay ordered. I had no choice put to hand Alice over. Suddenly, Alice hissed and scratched Fay on the hand. Fay screamed in pain. "That kitten is a menace!"
"That kitten has a name. Alice." I told her.
"Well Alice should be drowning in a river!" Fay screamed. She ran off down the hall, leaving Alice and I alone. "Well, isn't she a thorn in a bush." Alice scoffed. I laughed and started walking to the Training Hall. When I arrived, I saw Nathaniel and the three sisters already there. I avoided Nathaniel's eyes and just looked at the sisters. "Fay said that I was summoned. What's going on?" I asked.
"It is time to begin training." Achyls explained. "We know that the dark figure will arrive on the day of the eclipse, so we must be prepared."
"Adabel will be training you, while Achyls and I train Nathaniel." Abrecan said. I didn't completely understand, but I nodded as if I did. Suddenly, Alice jumped off my arms and turned herself back into a fairy. "And what about me?" Alice asked. I could see Nathaniel's reaction as a shock, and so was Abrecan and Achyls, but Adabel squealed. "You finally got yourself a fairy! How exciting!"
"Finally, someone with a little respect." Alice said.
"Alice! Change yourself back into a kitten." I ordered. Alice groaned and clapped her hands, turning herself back into a kitten. Adabel squealed again. "A shape shifting fairy named Alice! Brilliant! Anyhoo, lets start training!" I looked over at Nathaniel, and he looked at me. I looked away. Even though I was angry, my heart stilled beated fast for him. Adabel grabbed my hand forced me down to the floor. "Now, remember, you cant have all that spiritual power stuck in your body. You have to channel it through. Close your eyes. Go to a peaceful place, a place that is stuck in you memories forever. Someone from your past will show you your weapon, your ideal weapon." I closed my eyes. At first, I only saw darkness, but soon, things began mold in place. Suddenly, I was back home, at the cottage. I was by the pond behind the cottage, where I spent almost all my life in. Suddenly, I see someone on the otherside of the pond. I tried to speak, but no words came out. Soon, I see the person as clear as crystal, and tears start flowing down my face. I see my father, smiling his goofy smile at me. His blonde hair was spiking up, just the way he liked it. He wore his old army uniform, yet wore slippers. I wanted to run to him and give him the world's largest hug, but I couldn't move either. Suddenly, I see him holding something. It was an old story book, the book he would read to me before I slept. The story about a girl who stood up for not only herself but to everyone in the lower class. The title was on the tip of my tongue, but I knew I couldn't say it. Suddenly, my father spoke just two words. "Say it." He whispered. Suddenly, a warm breeze blew into my face, making me smile. I took a deep breathe and whispered the title. "The Arrow in the Wind" I whispered. Suddenly, my father walked on the surface on the pond and gave me a hug. I held him tightly, and soon he disolved into the wind. Suddenly, the world turned black, and I opened my eyes. I saw Adabel, Nathaniel, Alice in fairy form, Achyls, and Abrecan looking over me. I realized that I was no longer sitting up, but I was laying on the ground. "W-what happened?" I asked, my head spinning.
"Right after you closed your eyes, you suddenly fell backwards and wouldn't wake up." Nathaniel explained.
I looked at Adabel in the eyes. "Where was I?" I asked. She smiled and patted my head. "You were in the spirit world. The world where pure spirits roam for all eternity, a world filled with pure happiness and joy. Tell me Lucy, who did you see?"
" I was back home, at the cottage. I was by the pond. I saw my father. He showed me an old picture book. Wind blew in my face, a warm wind. And then suddenly, he walked across the pond and.......hugged me. I could physically feel him, but there was no heart beat." I explained. I don't know why, but tears started to flow down my face rapidly. I couldn't control myself and cried, crying like I've never cried before. "I miss him so much. I wanted to stay there forever, in his arms." I cried. Nathaniel hugged me, and I cried even more. I felt so lonley, so sad. Adabel lifted my head from Nathaniel's chest and looked at me in the eyes. "Tell me, what is the sacred weapon that you must possess?" She asked. I tried to cease my tears, but they could not stop. Suddenly, the name of the weapon popped in my head. "A bow made of the bark of a weeping willow, and arrows made of celestial silver." I told her. After that, I continued to cry in Nathaniel's arms. My father's face was still in my head, and my heart ached for him. But there was onething I couldn't understand : why wasn't my mother in the spirit world?
