While biking home from school I thought this day like every other one. Stormy skies with no rain, barren streets on my way home, as everyone is busy with the new release of the biggest video game in all history, Dragon's Keep. I have the gaming system, a vr engine named the Speculum. I don't have enough money for the game though. I live on the edge of a cliff on a dead end street. I finally got home.
"Anyone home?!" I yelled. We didn't live in a big house, it was pretty small, we were pretty stable but didn't have very much free time money. It's why I didn't ask for Dragon's Keep, it was just too expensive.
"In here honey!" I heard my mom from the living room.
I walked in and found her sitting on the couch with a box on her lap. It was wrapped with pink card stock paper taped together hastily. "What's this?" I asked with a smile.
"Here," she said excitedly and shoved the box in my lap as I sat down on the couch with her. "It's... not every day your son turns 16, and I know it's a bit early but I couldn't wait."
"Mom... you didn't have to get me something, I know it's tough with everything right no-" I stopped as my jaw dropped. It was Dragon's Keep, the preorder exclusive edition. "Mom! Thank you so much!"
"I heard you talking about it to your friends and I couldn't resist getting it! Do you like it?"
"Yes of course! I love it!" I hugged her, "I love you so much Mom!"
"I love you too sweetums" she said hugging me back.
I ran into my room after more hugs and thanks and maybe some tears, just a little. Ok a lot. I booted it up immediately in my Speculum.
