My matchups didn't seem half bad, Zodiac has the ability of superspeed with a debuff of being less strong, Squirrel has the ability to turn into any animal with the debuff of only being able to speak in references and not being able to speak until someone else gets it. Rusty has the Tinker ability, being able to repair armor or weapons in an instant, with the debuff of being incredibly clumsy while not tinkering. Teapot has the ability to scale walls like a frog but and the debuff of not being able to trade items with other players, but able to with NPC's. I was able to read up on this and a few other things like they're ages, all around mine, while I was in a loading screen for the first level.
Finally we loaded in, and I looked around. We were in a huge cavern, filled with a reddish stone which looked a little unstable, like it could collapse at any point. There were two other people beside me, whose nametags read ZodiacBeast and BlueTeapot. There was also 1 set of armor and a sword right by us and an opening far above.
"Teapot, you can climb up there right?" I pointed to the ledge. "You can bring Zodiac with you while I make more armor and swords for you guys, sound good?"
Teapot nodded, her black hair swishing as she gestured for Zodiac to get on her back.
"W-Wait a minute" said Zodiac. "Where's the other two... a-and what are your abilities?"
"Probably in the room adjacent to this one through the opening," I said walking over to the armor and sword. "And didn't you read up on them during the loading screen?"
"I-I don't play a lot of games" said Zodiac, obviously confused, and scared. "C-Can you explain them to me quickly, a-and your names would be nice too?"
I went first. "My name is ScragglyBurger, though you can call me Mark if you'd like, I have the ability to create things out of nothing if I have them in my inventory, though I get half the gold, and items are at double the cost."
"My name's BlueTeapot, but you can call me Susie or Sue if you want. I can scale walls like a frog but I can't trade items with other players, don't bother making a set of armor for me."
"Thanks, you guys already know but I'm ZodiacBeast, or Jeremy. I can run fast but I'm not as strong." He seemed to be a little calmer now, his spiky red hair reminded me of anime-style hair.
"Glad to meet you, do you want to stay here or go to the other side?" Asked Teapot.
"I-I'll stay here, bring Mar- Scraggle, with you, he could do more... i-in case there's a fight"
"Rodger that, here's your armor and swords" I said as I sent a trade request to Zodiac. "While we're gone search the room for anything else, if you don't mind."
"S-Sure thing!" Said Zodiac
Teapot let me on her back and we started climbing.
As we got to the top it became clear this wasn't the way to Squirrel and Rusty, but a challenge to get to them, they probably had something just like it on their side. Ours was several dozens of slimy green radiating... things coming towards us in a narrow hallway.
I jumped off of Teapot. "Get Zodiac, we need another fighter around here!"
Teapot nodded and jumped down as I held off the Zombies with the sword I made. I sliced one or two of them but they just kept coming. I looked down for a second and saw Teapot and Zodiac climbing up. I was glad to see them coming, but they wouldn't get there before I got overpowered by these things. I tripped over a rock and fell towards the chasm, just managing to catch the edge barely. The monsters were slowly closing the gap and searching for me. They found me and reached down to throw me off the edge.
But just before they could, they all shattered like glass and faded away in the death animation.
A hand reached down. "Take it, don't make it weird," a foreign voice said, and I instantly understood.
"Trollhunters" I said as I grabbed the hand and got pulled to safety. And once I was up I looked at my saviors, Rusty and Squirrel.
