Abused: Elton Castee II

(ch. 8) Just Breath

My eyes slowly opened as I turned over, expecting Elton to be there. But he wasn't. I scaned the room for signs of him, but there where none.

Had I drempt the whole thing? Or did he just leave me here before I woke up. I don't know which would be the better sanerio, but they both sounded  awful to me, right now.

Valerie was sleeping on a fold out couch that was next to my bed. So I did what any best friend would do, and I woke her up.

"Valerie!" I yelled.

She jumped awake and was amidetly up and rushing over to me. "What? Jade, what's wrong?Do I need to call a nurse? NURSE! NURSE, GET IN HERE!"

"Oh my god, no. shh. Shut up Valerie! I'm fine!"I yelled over her.

"What the hell? I was sleeping! If you arent dying, do not wake me!" She was already walking back to her fold out bed.

"No! Valerie, I have a question!" I said in a panic.

She stoped and turned to face me, her hand was on her hip and she rolled her eyes as she let out a sigh before saying "procead."

"Did Elton come here last night? Or am I insane?"

A small smile grew on her lips as he let out a chuckle "Yes he did. You where cuddling with him and everything."

"Valerie! Shut up! do you know where he is now?"

She turned back around and got back in bed. She took a minute to respond. "Mhm, he went home he said he would be back, or something." She mumbled out.

"Hey, No! Give me your phone, you whore!" I yelled, trying to prevent her from going back to sleep.

She sighed and got up, she handed me her phone and went back to bed, as soon as she laid down she whispered "bitch" under her breath.

I smiled and unlocked her phone. My finger tips tapped away as I dieled Eltons number, which I knew by heart.

He picked up on the 2 ring. "Hello?"

"Hey, it's Jade."

"Oh, hello smoochy cuddle buddy." He mocked.

"Oh, shut up about it! It happened! I know! i was there! and I totally regret ever, even thinking that sentience!"

"You know your happy you said that. anyway, I'll be over there in about an hour, I just went home really quick to do some stuff."

A smile appeared on my face as I messed with the hem of my hospital gown. "Okay, I'll see you then, smoochy cuddle buddy."

"Ah, see! There you go!" His voice was filled with exsitment and happiness, as he praised me for saying the stupidest phrase known to mankind.

"God, I hate you" i joked.

"I hate you too."he joked back.

"Well, ok bye smoochy cuddle buddy, can't wait to get over there so we can smooch and cuddle!" He laughed out.

I rolled my eyes before saying "now it's just getting old."

Eltons replied amidetly and in a very serious tone "it will never get old."

I squinted my eyes as mouth moved in to a tight line, as my fingers pulled at loose strings on my gown. "Mmmm, I don't know about that. But I'll see you soon, tell circa I said hi! K, love you, bye."

I pulled the phone away from my face, not thinking of what I just said as I hung up the phone, as soon as the call ended I realized I said "I love you."

"No! Shit!" I screeched out.

I amidetly called him back. He picked up the phone on the first ring, and I started rambling on about, how that was out of instinct and I didn't really mean that. His answers where "mhm" , "yep" and "totally" which annoyed me.

As soon as I was out of breath and stopped talking Elton said "Well, I have to go. Love you too, bye." And with that he hung up the phone.

My mouth fell open as a small scream escaped my throat. My eyes grew huge as my heart beat speed up.

"Valerie!" I yelled.

"Mhm."

"Elton just said he loved me!"

"That's very nice Jade, I'm supper happy for you. Now I'm going back to sleep." She mumbled out.

I rolled my eyes at her as she started to lightly snore. I sat in the bed starring off in to space as I fiddled with my gown. A huge, goofy, smile plastered in my face. I felt like my stumic was going to fly away and giddiness filled my heart.

The door to my room opened and I amidetly looked up, expecting Elton to be waltzing in, but instead it was a man in a white lab coat.

"Why, hello Jade. What's the smile about? are you that happy to see me?" He joked.

I rolled my eyes and forced my wacky grin to a small smile. "Oh, you wish."

"I'm glad your feeling good! I just wanted to let you know how your doing, and what's going on. We have you on some pain killers so you don't have to feel everything. Your left ankle is sprained and so is your left wrist. You have some pretty bad bruises and a few cuts and scratches. your head was hit hard a couple of time, but everything seems to be in order. The main thing will probably be the aches and pains from all the bruises and such. But we're going to keep you here another night so we can sort things out and make sure there isn't anything where missing." Dr. Perez's voice was fast but still understandebal.

He smiled at me and I smiled back. "Oh, ok, well that's fine." I said acwordly.

His smile fadded and his mood became more serious. "Okay, Jade. I have something to tell you. I know this won't be easy to hear but please stay calm."

My heart dropped to my stumic and the butterfly seemed to be dead. "What? What is it?" My voice was panicked.

He took in a deep breath and his hand went to my knee. "Jade, your pregnant."

My heart shattered and the air in my lungs dispaered. I gasped for air as I started to shake.

"Is there anyway it couldn't be..... his?" He asked.

"N-no. I didn't, there's no way it couldn't be his. I'm defiantly pregnant with trevers baby." I gasped out.

"What? Jade, I-" i heard Elton say from the door way. My irritated, tear-filled eyes looked over to him.

He rushed over to me and warped his arms around my shoulders, pulling me in to a side hug. My arms gripped his and I gasped for air.

"I'm, so sorry Jade. I think I'll go and come back to discuss this further, latter." Dr. Perez said before he got up and left.

I was silently sobbing, trying desperately to full my lungs with air, but it wasn't happening. I looked at elton, my mouth slightly open as I struggled to breath. He gave me a sympathetic look before pulling my head to his chest. I moved so I was hugging him properly.

"Shh, it's ok. Breath, Jade. Just breath. Everything will be ok." His voice was soothing and his breath hit my ear as he whispered.

I finaly gasped in a breath of air and I started to sob loudly, i clutched eltons shirt like it was the only thing keeping me alive. One of his hands rubbed up and down my back as the other petted my hair.

"What the fuck? Why is jade crying? What did you do, you piece of trash! What is going on?!" Valerie shouted as she rushed over to us.

I heard Elton say calmly to her "She's pregnant. calm down. It'll be ok."

I pulled Elton closer to me as I felt another hand stroking my back. It was Valerie's.

It was like an out of body experience, I could see myself crying in to eltons shoulder as him and Valerie rubbed my back, trying comfort me. I couldn't hear anything but ringing in my ears. It felt like the world came crashing down on top of me, and I couldn't handle it.
