***Court palace hanger, newyork***
Vayentha dropped down from the private jet. She was welcomed by a troop of security in dark purple suits. She walked straight to her official vehicle.
  "Safe journey princess"
Vayentha took a deep breath and made herself relax. There was no big deal. It was just like taking a tour to neighbouring villages. It can't go too wrong.
As they moved through Newyork city, vayentha tried to be as observant  as possible. Newyork was really beautiful. She heard time lit up in the night. A song began playing, one she'd never heard but she was already digging the lyrics.
*When it comes to you.
There's no crime...*
She drifted off, finally deciding she was ready for whatever Newyork had in store for her.
   ***
Vayentha stared wide eyed at the house. It was bigger than she had expected. It looked like someone had teleported it straight from Paris. She got down from the limo as her new dad stepped outside to welcome her. She recognised him immediately.
  "Mr Dembe"
He was her fathers most trusted body guard guard and one of her best at that. He smiled at her
"It's Mr Marcantonio now or dad"
She was so used to seeing him in a dark suit and dark shades that it was hilarious to see him a khakis and abnold shirt.
  "What?"
She looked up.
" Why do you want to laugh"
She tried to look confused.
"Me? Laugh? Of course not Dembe"
Dembe scoffed
" Do it already princess. You look like a stuffed tomato."
That did it. She bursted into a fit of laughter, something every princess was trained against.
"That's it princess. You've already began your journey to being a normal American teen.
  ***
Vayentha sighed in deep frustration. She had never had to buy her clothes herself so standing in a shopping mall as big as this proved a great challenge. Dembe had not even thought twice when she asked him to come with her. She walked towards the lingerie section. What the hell was she even doing here.
  "Arghhh!"
"You seem to be having a bit of trouble. Can I be of some help."
Vayentha turned around to find herself staring at friendly brown eyes along with a smile.
  "Umm hey?"
Vayentha said, not certain how to act towards the beautiful girl staring at her. The girl smiled.
"Hey chill okay. I actually work here so I can help you out with no strings attached. No lesbo vibes I promise"
  "No, it's not... I didn't...I don't..."
"It's okay. Just tell me what you need"
Vayentha tried to calm down. The girl was nothing but friendly.
"I'm trying to fit it and at the same time not be too noticed and not too wierd."
The girls smile increased.
  "Come with me"
And with that, she dragged Vayenthas hand to another section of the shopping mall.
   ***
An hour later, the two girls were on the floor struggling with a piece of jean skirt.
"And by the way, I have absolutely no problem with lesbians."
"Me neither" the girl said getting up and helping vayentha up too"but I'm also hundred percent boys"
Vayentha smiled and checked the time on her iPhone.
" I've got to go, but I swear I had a fun time."
The girl laughed loud then her face creased in worry
"I think I over did my job"
Vayentha turned to look at the pile of clothes.
"It's no problem. I can actually afford all those"
"Okay? Let's get your bill then.". They walked towards the counter. Vayentha handed her her ATM card and turned to go.
"Hey, I didn't catch your name"
"Umm..."the girl scrathed the back of her hair akwardly. "There's really no need for that. We're only customer and employee."
"Are you kidding me?." Vayentha said truly shocked." I mean you're literarilly the first friend I've made since I got here."
The girl smiled at her.
"Diana Palmer" she said stretching out her hand. Vayentha avoided it and instead hugged her.
"Vanessa Marcantonio. Nice to meet you."
"You're nice. I hope you do come back. I don't get plenty nice customers here especially teenagers. There usually just rich and stuck up."
  " You're nice too."
They exchanged numbers before Vayentha finally left the mall. At least she made a friend today, she thought to herself as she left the mall.
  ***
  "Hey Dembe"
"It's dad and how was the shopping."
"Cool actually. I made a new friend"
Dembe rose an eyebrow up. Vayentha shook her head.
"It's fine dad" she said slumping on the chair next to him.
"Do you think I'll really be fine?"
Vayentha asked Dembe. He turned to look at her before taking her hand.
"It might be a little difficult at first, you know, the whole concept of high school and making new friends but you'll be fine. I know you're strong enough."
She closed her eyes and sighed heavily.
"Dembe? All the things I hear about papa, are...are they true?"
Dembe took a deep breath. The girl would probably not understand. Too young to carry the burden of being the daughter of a Don.
"Just know that everything your dad has done, good or bad, he did to protect you."
Vayentha managed a small smile.
"Go sleep now. Tommorow you'll face one of your biggest challenges as an American teen. Highschool."
