Troubled Waters

Chapter 1

  The sun was shining and the rays were sifitng through my eyelids...okay i'll stop. Let's get on with this already. My name's Fiona Waters and im 15. I live with my parents and my annoying twin brother, Liam (we're only 15 seconds apart). My mum's got a promotion so we have to move back to Angel Springs. I don't really know anything about this place, other than the fact that my mum used to be a student here and i used to live here. I don't remember much of Angel Springs since i moved to Silverston like when Liam and i were two. 

The entire house is almost finished being packed up. My room just has a bunch of boxes and Liam's room is still a mess. You might be thinking, "Arent you upset about all of this?" And honestly no, but you're completely right. I should be upset about all of this, just ashame i really don't care. I'm a pretty chill gal, you know? I don't like to hesitate that much or get involved with drama. I live pretty simple and don't mind a bit of change. 

But there are just some things i can't live without, like wifi or my phone.  I know that all them baby boomers might be complaining about Gen z, but let' s be honest. You can't really get by one day without being exposed to technology. We don't even need to look at each other's faces anymore, and that's totally cool. I enjoy that. 

You might be wondering, a girl like me, i probably don't have any worries or enemies, am i right? Yes, i do live a very carefree life, but that dosen't mean i don't have any enemies! Take for example, Elijah Carter. She's the most popular girl at my school back in Silverston. But what you're thinking abut right now, she's pretty cool. Yeah, that's right. A popular girl, cool? But i have to admit, i have never been bullied or teased by the popular kids ever like in the movies. Now that i've come to think of it, maybe it's because i never really talked to her or her friends. Yeah, that's probably why.

Just because i'm chill, it dosen't mean i never say no. I'm pretty assertive, i guess. When it comes to drugs, smoking and alchohol, it's a big no. Oh-also never mess with me or my friends. I can be your friend quickly but i can be your enemy just as quick. Omg, i'm so sorry about my pep talk. 

Anyways. let's continue. I can hear a rumbling noise. Great, the delivery guys finally came. We waited at the porch for a million years until they finished reverse parking into our drive. "Hey, this the Waters Family?," said one of the guys hopping out of the truck. He definetely had a dad bod, a mullet and was wearing a Nirvana shirt with a ketchup stain on it. Classic Aussie.  

"Ye-yes. But the company said that you would come at 10am. The real estate agent has been waiting for us for two hours now," said mum. "Look, dal. The world dosen't revolve around and your perfect little family. Whatever time we come , we come. So you're gonna pass the boxes or what?," he replied. My mum looked dumbfounded, gave the guy a glare and walked back into the house to get the boxes with the rest of my family following behind. "Hey, look, mate. That's not right, the way you talked to my mum. We paid for you to be here at 10 and you sure damn should be here at 10!," I yelled at the guy as he was turning to walk back to his truck. 

"Look kiddo. You've got a lot of attitude there. Why don't you go and help your parents and get some boxes instead of being a waste of oxygen," the guy said unlocking the latch for the truck. My knuckles were turning white and i was biting my lip so hard i think it bled a little. But instead of lashing out at him and breaking his head, i decided to leave it. There's not point dealing with a fool. 

After packing all the furniture and boxes away, we drove off to the new house that was waiting for us. I'd never been to a boarding school before, but i was ready for a fresh new start. Away from the toxic friends, away from my brother, and just away from drama once and for all..right?
