Ducktales -- Money Making Machine

• Chapter 3 •

"Launchpad! Watch the road!" Scrooge yelled as the cart came crashing down onto the tarmac, black road.

"Chill out McDcuck, we're nearly there." Launchpad responded, raising the speed towards Mark Beaks's office building.

"Launchpad! Stop the cart!" Scrooge shouted as he noticed the building in front of them.

"Uh oh-" Launchpad crashed the cart into a window of the building and two security men took him down.

"Duck bros, run!" Launchpad yelled as the security detained him.

The ducks ran around the corner of the building. They were out of breath and Louie, catching his breath, pointed towards the roof.

"I know that there's a door on the roof we can use." Louie said, pointing to a ladder on the wall.

"Good thinking." Dewey said, as he started to climb.

"Eh. I don't think so." Scrooge said as he put Dewey back on the ground.

"I'm going first..I don't know if it's safe for you." Scrooge started to climb.

As Scrooge got half way the little ducks followed behind. Webby was eager to climb and find what Beaks was hiding.

"So what's our plan? You know, I'm all for sneaking into buildings, but what are we doing?" Huey said, climbing the ladder slowly.

"We're gonna steal that deed right out of Beaks's hands and get that room back. Then I'm gonna have to hire Gyro again.." Scrooge said, lowering his voice towards the end.

"Wait, you fired Gyro?" Webby said, feeling confused.

They reached the top and found that the only way up was a huge trampoline.

"Ah bother and buzzards. Now what?" Scrooge mumbled, looking up to the top of the roof.

"Hey. These things are totally safe. Me and Louie saw Beaks jump into one before." Dewey said, hopping onto the trampoline and jumping lightly.

"I wonder if we all get on and jump, maybe we can bounce high enough to the roof." Webby said, complementing herself afterwards on her brilliant thinking.

"Yeah that's great, so long as it doesn't backfire horribly.." Huey said sarcastically.

The ducks got onto the trampoline and started jumping..

"On three. One..Two..Th- What the cherry is that?" Louie said, looking astonished.

"Hey bros! Need a lift?" Launchpad arrived in a helicopter and lowered near the trampoline.

"Do you ever come at better times?"

The ducks hopped onto the helicopter and Launchpad flew up to the roof and dropped them off on top. Not the smoothest of rides..

"Thanks Launchpad!" The ducks shouted as the helicopter left.

"Alright let's go."

They entered through the roof door and inside was bright, shiny metal everywhere. There were a bunch of different machines and gizmos. The deed was at the end of a hallway, sitting on a desk.

"Huh. With Beaks I woulda thought he'd left a trap for us.." Webby said.

4 robots activated and turned towards the ducks.

"Destroy Scrooge McDuck.." The robots blurted in mechanical voices.

"Of course.."

The robots revealed a canon in their arms and aimed at Scrooge.

"Now can't we just work this-"

A tennis ball flew towards McDuck but he quickly blocked it with his cane.

"Kids! Get down!" Scrooge yelled, ducking behind a deskchair.

Webby, Dewey and Huey stayed near Scrooge but Louie ran towards the desk with the deed on.

"Louie!" Webby shouted, looking over Scrooge's shoulder.

Louie jumped and grabbed the deed. He walked over to a switch on the wall and flicked it. The robots deactivated and the others looked amazed.

"How did you do that?" Webby asked in amazement.

"The bot said 'Destroy Scrooge McDuck'. They were only programmed to attack Scrooge. Not us. Beaks tech isn't really that advanced.." Louie bragged, holding the deed.

"Alright. Give it here." Scrooge reached for the deed but Louie kept it.

"No. First tell us why we were after Beaks. Why did you fire Gyro? And why has Beaks got a deed to one of your rooms?" Louie said, crossing his arms.

"Look kids. I got a bit carried away with the idea of a money making machine so I.. I might have given him Gyro's old room." Scrooge said.

"Now I know, It was stupid. I'm going to hire Gyro again and get rid of the deed." Scrooge continued before Louie could object.

Louie handed over the deed and Scrooge crumbled it and put it in his pocket. Suddenly the roof caved in and created a loud smash.

"Dudes! I thought you needed help!" Launchpad said, flying his helicopter into the roof.

"Aye. We do. Could you get us out of this infernal place?" Scrooge asked, covering his face from rubble.

Launchpad lowered the helicopter and let the ducks on. Scrooge thought for a moment.

"Hey Launchpad! Fly us over Gyro's house!" Scrooge yelled to Launchpad over sounds of the helicopter.

"And don't crash into his roof.." Scrooge continued.

Thyey flew over Gyro's house and stopped, Gyro was watering plants.

"Gyro! Get packed and ready! You're hired again! Meet me at the mansion ready to talk about your inventions!" Scrooge shouted to Gyro, raising a smile.

"Okay! But wha-"

"I'll pay you double. Just be there!" Scrooge interupted and they flew away.

They arrived at the mansion and headed inside. Flintheart Glomgole was sitting in his chair.

"Staing competition?" He asked.

Scrooge laughed. "You'll never win.".
