chapter three: bloodthirsty

That day

Jack's POV

"Mr. Grazer?" My teacher called me.
"Yes?" I asked rasing my eyebrows.
"Are you okay? You've been very distant lately."
"Oh, yeah, I'm fine."
I faked a smile.
He shrugged his shoulders and continued wriring something on the white board. 
I wasn't really paying attention.
I tried, but my brain can't seem to let go the thought of something bad happening to Millie.
What if she's hurt?
Wyatt hit me with his pencil.
His red, Mario Cart pencil.
I'm honestly suprised that he threw that pencil.
He loves it more than he loves me.
"Ouch" I whispered.
"Have you seen Millie?"
He mouthed.
I just shook my head.
Nobody knows where she is.
It was getting really hot in the classroom and I found it hard to breathe.
My palms were sweaty and I started shaking.
People around me were disappearing and appearing again every minute.
I tried to ignore the fact that I couldn't breathe but in a matter of seconds I was gasping for air.
"Mr. Oleff please take Mr. Grazer to the nurse."
My teacher said.
Wyatt nooded and we exited the classroom.
As soon as we left I was feeling better.
Wyatt narrowed his eyebrows.
"Jack, do you know what happened?"
"I don't know man, I couldn't breathe, and I-"
"You were having a panic attack."
Wyatt cut me off.
I looked down.
"Yeah."
"Is this your first?"
He asked.
"Yes."
I answered, even tho I knew damn well it wasn't.
We were walking to the nurse's when we passed by Millie's locker.
One thing caught my eye.
Little 'J+M' was written in the corner of it.
We wrote that a year ago.
My lips curved into a soft smile.
Why do I feel like she left, and she's not coming back?
Wyatt interruped my thoughts.
"Why are there so many flies at Millie's locker? And it kinda stinks. "
He was right.
I don't know why, she always put her parfeume in her locker to smell nice.
That was the one thing I loved about her.
I came closer.
The smell was getting worse and I was really confused.
I typed in her password and slowly opened the locker.

Kenzie's POV

Me, Johnny, Finn, Jaeden and Sophia were skipping school because why not.
We were chilling in cafe down the street.
"So, how's school going kiddos?"
Finn asked.
"Ew." Johnny answered.
"Mood." I sighed
"Same." Jaeden chuckled.
"Yeah." Sophia said not looking up from her phone.
"So, like you guys know it's Lilia and I's anniversary soon and I-"
Jaeden got cut off by a waitress.
She was beautiful.
She had big chocolate brown eyes and beautiful thick long brown curly hair.
She had full reddish lips and perfect white teeth.
I looked over.
Johnny had hella heart eyes for her.
"What would you like to drink?"
She smiled.
"Uh, um, I- I'm Johnny." Johnny said.
She chuckled awkwardly.
"Umm okay, Johnny, what would you like to drink?"
He just smiled dumbly.
I rolled my eyes.
"He'll have water."
I said a little bit ruder than I planed.
"Woahh, someone's jealous." Finn said.
"No I'm not."
We ordered while Johnny was just staring  at her.
"You have a girlfriend dumbass." Sophia said.
Johnny laughed.
"Nadia? Oh we broke up yesterday. She was cheating on me with half of men's kind."
Oh, so he's single.
Stop it Kenzie.
He will never like someone like you.
Stop trying.
You're not good enough
My inner voice said.
I sighed.
"Anyways, Finn, when are you making a move on Maddie?" Johnny smirked.
Finn choked on his coffee.
"Excuse me?"
"Yeah, I saw that dude Jack Kelly flirting with her.
Sorry to break it down to you buddy but you don't have a chance if he likes her. I have football practice with him and damn boy, he's good."
Johnny said.
Finn rolled his eyes.
"I don't want a chance. I don't like her like that."
"Sureee." We all said.
That's when Jaeden's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"I understand."
"Now?"
"We're on our way."
Jaeden put his phone in his pocket.
"We have to go back to school. Now!"
He said.
We started running.
Johnny unlocked the car and we came in.
He was driving, I sat at the passenger seat, while Finn, Jaeden and Sophia were in the back.
It was dead silent.
Johnny put his hand on my tight and I shivered at his touch.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked me.
"Not really."
He held my hand.
"It's going to be okay." He softly smiled.
We were finally there.
We ran as fast as we could because Wyatt said it was an emergency code 10.
And if it's code 10 it must be something really bad.
First thing I saw were Maddie and Lilia crying in each other's arms, Wyatt sobbing, and Jack standing there, paralyzed, while tears are running down his cheeks.
Without any word Finn ran to hug Maddie, and Lilia went to Jaeden.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"L-l-locker"
Maddie sobbed.
That's when my life turned into a real nightmare.
There stood a lifeless body of one of my best friends.
Tears started falling down my face when pair of strong arms hugged me.
"Shh, it's okay."
Johnny said as he left out a few tears himself and kissed the top of my head.
I looked at her body once again.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
I wanted her to suddenly start laughing
saying it was a stupid prank,
To jump out and laugh at our reactions,
But she didn't.
And that's when it hit me.

Millie Bobby Brown is dead.
