Chapter Fourty Five: The wedding day.

Gabby's POV:

After one year and two months, a wonderful home and endless experiences together, Harry proposed to me during our masquerade ball. Unfortunately we weren’t able to start our wedding planning right away. Harry had been busy with his career for the past few months, and we stayed focused on it first, expecting to plan when it was all over. After knowing that I am pregnant, we decided to just go on and plan everything. Then, a tragedy happened. We almost lost our twins but thank God my doctor and the hospital helped us not to lose the baby. We were told there was nothing else to do but treasure the last chance that the babies had left. The one thing that remained important to us was to get married and take good care of the babies, so we set a date and began dreaming up our wedding. Few months after, I gave birth to Lauren and Luke. I encountered a close to death experience but thank God the doctor saved my life. No! Harry did, because if it wasn’t for him and his faith and courage, the doctor would never try pumping my heart again. With the help of dear friends and family, Harry was able to do the thing that mattered the most to us: we got married. As emotional and difficult as parts of the day were, it was the most special day of our lives and of our relationship together. We survived against all odds. Even though we’ve encountered many problems, we were able to be married and celebrate our babies’ one-month anniversary, and that’s a gift no one can ever take away.

For the ceremony we had everyone stand instead of sit, not because of space limitations but because we wanted it to feel intimate. I walked in the church’s huge door with my dad, having to turn a little corner, seeing so many people and just searching for Harry and our twins. They were all I wanted to see. We met a few inches away from the aisle of the church and we just embraced each other for a minute before the ceremony started. I’ve never felt surer of anything in my life and that was a wonderful feeling.

I really wanted floral chairs in somehow. We decided, to just replace the usual chairs the church use into a floral one.

"Gabby, please face Harry, and hold his hands, palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams. These are the hands you will place with expectant joy against your stomach, until he too, feels his child stir within you. These are the hands that look so large and strong, yet will be so gentle as he holds your baby for the first time. These are the hands that will work long hours for you and your new family These are that hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief wracks your mind. These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes: eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you.” The minister told me and later on faced Harry.

“ Harry, please hold Gabby’s hands, palms up, where you may see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she pledges her love and commitment to you all the days of her life. These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness and hurt, supporting and encouraging them along the way, and knowing when it is time to let go. These are the hands that will massage tension from you neck and back in the evenings after you’ve both had a long hard day. These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving. They are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will hold you in joy and excitement and hope, each time she tells you that you are to have another child, that together you have created a new life. These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized.” Harry started to cry and so am I. He wiped my tears and listened to the minister again.

"God, bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in your grace, rich in caring, and devoted in reaching for your perfection. May Harry and Gabby see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide. We ask this in your name, Amen."

And now, we're ready to exchange our vows.

" I, Gabriella Kristine Ruiz-Panettiere, take you Harry Edward Styles, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." And Harry did the same thing. Replacing what should be replaced.

Right after we exchanged rings, we had my mom sing the blessing over us.

The reception took place at Sofitel St. James Hotel near Westminster Abbey.

Ariana (The head cook) said she could make anything we liked, so we decided on the menu ourselves, which was one of the few things Harry was able to help with and he really enjoyed doing so. With some of Ariana’s suggestions, mixed in with some meaningful meals we’d shared through our relationship, this is the menu we decided on:

Hors d’oeuvres: Citrus and Coriander Cured Wild Salmon Gravlax with Accoutrements / Rogue Creamery Blue Cheese Crostini with Truffle Honey // Appetizers: Tri Color Salad of Radicchio, Romaine, Oregon Pear, Olive Oil Croutons, Parmesan Vinaigrette / French Onion Soup with Gruyere Toast // Entrees: Butter Poached Maine Lobster Over Dungeness Crab Risotto / Filet Mignon with Yukon Gold Potato Puree, Mushroom Demi Glace and Crispy Shallots / Cannelloni of Organic Spinach and Fresh Ricotta Cheese Wrapped in Fresh Pasta and Simmered in a Garlic-Parmesan Sauce with Dad’s Marinara // Dessert: Vanilla Bean Crème Bruleè with Fresh Berries / Flourless Chocolate Sachertorte with Caramel Ice Cream / Blood Orange Wedding Cheesecake.

One of my favorite parts of our wedding was at the end of the night. Harry and the boys sang. Harry even surprised me with romantic gestures. My family members were circling us at we danced at the dance floor and one by one, they gave roses and Harry and I went to the gazebo (our favorite romantic spot) and watched the fireworks explode and lanterns fly away. I remembered the day he proposed to me at the masquerade ball and the day he asked me if I can be his girlfriend. I’ve never been this happy in my entire life. This is the beginning of an everlasting love that Harry and I will share with our two kids. Although I know he struggled so hard to do so, he still managed to balance things for us. Harry left the venue to go home and fix things. At that point when he came back, there was only a small group left, and we just sat around, laughed, cried, taking turns sharing memories, stories and reflections. It’s such a beautiful gift to receive so much love and support and I was so thankful that we were able to experience that. Before the night ended, Harry and I stood up and danced along the music. It was so On this day by David Pomeranz. It was my bridal entourage song.

“Gabby, I love you so much. Thank you. Thank you for letting me enter your life.”

"I love you too, Harry. Thank you also, for letting me have the lovliest decision I've ever had."

Harry smiled at me and kissed me passionately.
