'Aeren can you bring the last box in?' His mother asked him as he walked in the house with a bag of his older sisters punk stuff. He let out a soft sigh and nodded, 'Yeah i'll get it.' He decided, even though his mother would have made a big deal of it if he said he didn't want to.
He turned around to walk back to the moving truck, and he stopped.
'Uh...' He hesitated, staring and the group of kids outside his parking lot. 'Can I help you?' He asked, stepping forward awkwardly. 'We need to tell you something.. so hurry with that last box..' A boy his age suggested, and Aeren nodded and quickly grabbed the box, before he ran back into the house and set it down, 'Going to talk to the kids outside be back later!' He called, not bothering to pause long enough for permission.
He walked back outside and right up to the kids. 'Anyway, what did you need again?'
'You need to pick a side..' The girl standing at the boy who spoke before's left. 'Yes..Hayley is right, in this neighborhood, you need you pick a side.. The Easters or us, the Northies.' The boy spoke again. Aeren blinked, 'What do you mean..side? It's just a neighborhood..' He said cluelessly and suddenly a taller male laughed, 'Does he really not get it?' He choked out through laughing breaths.
Hayley swiped at his face with long nails, and he yelped, silencing himself before he was in trouble. 'The adults and children are to choose a side on this street. There is a war going on between the Easters and Northies. Over which side is better.' The boy who seemed to be the leader of the little group had spoken up again. Aeren looked absolutely confused, and was even more confused when he watched kids from the east side walking towards his house.
'You have got to be kidding me..' He whispered, seeing a girl leading the group, brown hair with blonde dipped tips. Beside her, was a shorter ginger boy with a cold stare as it rested on the leader of the North group. *What the hell is going on?! Why did we move to the crazy neighborhood?!* He thought, his face twisting in concern. Why him?
'Lester! What on earth are you doing here?' The East Girl asked as she stopped in front of the leader of the Northern Group. Aeren backed away awkwardly, unsure of what to say or do.
The girl's eyes rested upon Aeren, and he froze, shivering. 'I suppose you are the new kid? You look 15, Punk music and quiet style. Cool. Perfect for an Eastern Boy.' She decided, stepping forward. Lester hissed instantly and grabbed onto Aeren's arm, pulling him closer to the North, but the Eastern girl grabbed his other arm.
