Note:

So this is a relatively short chapter in comparison to my other ones.

BUT.

LOL.

I'm going to make 50% of you happy, and I'm going to piss off 50% of you.

ENJOY. (:

Since cheer season has come to an end, my after-school time has been taken up by track practices. I was currently just running around the track, even though practice ended ten minutes ago. My coach didn't really mind that I did so, just as long as I didn't overdo it. Besides, all school practices ended at the same time, so Alexis and Bethany would be getting back from their lacrosse and tennis practices soon. I didn't really mind as to the running helped me focus on other things in my life (aka. the freaking love octagon I had forming in my life.)

I usually ran long distance because my stamina was actually pretty good. Ever since I've been texting Jordan, she'd remind me to eat something every day so I was okay for practice and school. Sometimes before the first hour, I'd find a bagel with cream cheese on my desk. It was nice considering that I knew Jordan went out of her way to bring it to me, even though her class was on the other side of the building. She even convinced me to keep little granola bars in my backpack just in case I felt dizzy for the day.

But it was frustrating to interact with Jordan and have her do all these cute, nice things for me when I didn't understand how I felt about her. I absolutely knew, without a doubt, that a small part within me wanted to start something more with her, but the other part couldn't emotionally accept that.

She still did some sick things to me in the past, and no matter how close we've been getting now, it was still ravaging my heart and soul to even interact with my past abuser. There was also the fact that she wouldn't even allow herself to be less than a foot away from me. Ever since the "almost-kiss" incident at the restaurant, she made it perfectly clear that she didn't want anything to start because she "didn't deserve me" and "she couldn't forgive herself."

I mean, it was quite noble of her to do that, especially since I certainly didn't know what I wanted out of her, but a certain part of my mind wanted her to want me the way it was forbidden to.

I sighed, slowing my body down to a quick jog instead of a sprint. I looked down at my watch to see that Alexis was actually late in meeting me this time. I stopped in the middle of the track to look around for the familiar blonde, but I couldn't find her anywhere in sight. I shrugged, thinking that she probably held up with something and started walking to the side bench where my things were.

I took a sip out of my water bottle and grabbed my towel to wipe the sweat that was forming on my neck, shoulders, and abdomen. I tossed it to the side once I wiped off all the gross dirty sweat off my body. I looked down at my white Nike sports bra and black spandex. I was kinda annoyed that there were dust stains from practice, but it was my fault for even wearing white while exercising.

"Hey, Sumner!" I heard Alexis screech in her weird dolphin imitation as she skipped over to me from across the field. I stared at how stupid she looked while I looked behind her, seeing that Bethany was trailing behind her with a tennis racquet bag, Alexis's duffel bag, and her lacrosse stick. She was struggling a bit, and she looked a little annoyed to see that Alexis was just freely skipping towards me.

"Hi," I waved to Alexis and Bethany as I tilted my head to the side. "I have one more lap to finish, I also kinda wanna practice hurdles. Do you mind staying for just a couple more minutes?...Also, doesn't Bethany need help?" I inquired as my eyes widened to see Bethany's face starting to get red as she tried carrying all the supplies towards us.
