"Hey, mo-om" I called, swinging from the end of the stairs and dragging out the 'o'. "Can I go to Frances' for lunch with her and the gang?"
"You go to their a lot. Are you sure you guys aren't dating?" James laughed, earning a glare and book to the head as AJ (Alexander Jr) burst out laughing.
I rolled my eyes. "AJ, you know Ele is gay-"
"Yeah, for Susie, I know, I know" He sighed, interrupting me.
"Ignore them. Yes, you may." Ma sighed. "But, be back by 1:30pm, your father will be home around 1:40." I nodded, grabbing my coat from the rack and almost tripping Angie over as she walked out of her room reading a book.

"Sorry, Sis!" I smiled at her and she giggled, shaking her head. "Oh, by the way, I'm heading too Ele's for lunch with her and the others, wanna tag along?" she smiled and looked at Ma for her approval.
"Don't eat too much, dinners at 4" She sighed
"No promises!" She called as she ran out after me.

"I'm here, I'm queer and theres nothing you can do about it!" My sister yelled as she kicked the already slightly-opened door.
"Angie, stop! Martha might be home!" I whisper-yelled at her, but I knew for a fact that he isn't or we wouldn't be here.
"Y'know, you could've just told me to keep it down, like a normal person." she said, stepping inside.
"Fine. Angie, please keep it down like a normal person?" I laughed, hanging both our jackets up.
"She's a Hamilton, what do you expect?" We turned to see Martha walking up to us.

As Frances Laurens Age 17 •
"I expect her to be respectful, especially when in the Laurens' home." She turns around and walks with us to the living room where Martha and Georges were playing MarioKart.
"Hey, what's wrong with my Dad?" Frances asked, not taking her eyes of the screen. I sat down and Angie took two grilled cheeses off the coffee table before sitting down next to me and giving me one.
"Nothings wrong with him!" I cried, causing Angie too snort. I glared at her. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing's wrong with him...John Laurens...the man who moved too the other side of town, because we painted a room one shade off." she looked at me like "Are you dumb".
"Hey, at least he isn't the dumbest person ever. Remember when Aaron Burr lit himself on fire twice trying to light a candle," Georges pointed and Patsy laughed.
As I began another round of MarioKart with Angie we heard the front door open and someone laughing.
"Talkin' bout' Burr?" Someone, who I immediately recognised as Susie, called as she came into view.
She jumped over the couch and sat next too Frances who blushed profusely.
"Remember that time he was drunk and made a whole plan with Ham-Ham to create America 2?"
"I remember that..." I sighed in disappointment while everyone else started laughing.
"Are you sure he was drunk?" Georges asked and Angie hit him with a pillow.
"Who else is coming?" Patsy asked, moving the conversation along.
"Mulligan was gonna come but h-" Frances replied before I interrupted her.
"HA! Fuck you, Princess Peach!" Angie screamed at the television and she glared at her. "Uh-sorry..."
"His dad grounded him bc he beat up Madison's kid" She said rolling her eyes.
"So, heard Ham-Ham is going to Virginia with my dad for a week or so this weekend to visit Grandpops," Georges asked, not looking up as he scrolled through his phone. He laughed when he heard a faint "he's not my da-a-ad" from Angie.
"Yeah, Mar-" She stopped me by stomping on my foot. "Ow! What the fuck?" I screamed.
"Oh, sorry! Accident." She said before mouthing "He doesn't know"
"Oh, uh, yeah, something about business" I lied. Truth was Martha was sick and they were visiting George for a week, but I guess Uncle Laf hadn't told the kids yet. Makes sense, since Dad didn't tell us, we kinda overheard him telling Laf when he thought we weren't home.
"Well, wanna go out Saturday night?" Frances asked, "I'll just tell my parents that I'm staying at yours." We all nodded in agreement and went back to playing MarioKart till there was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it!" I heaved myself off the couch and ran to the front door. I opened it too see a young lady standing in the doorway. A beautiful young lady at that. She froze as soon as she saw me and her smiled.
"Hey, is Frances here?" She asked, and I smiled and could feel my entire face was glowing a bright red. Fuck.
"I-Uh, yes, hang on, come in I'll go get her." I ran into the living room and all eyes were on me. "Hey, uh, Laurens? Theres someone at the door for you. Some girl, she looks to be about 19?"
Frances' eyes lit up as she stood and ran to the door. "Jeez, Pip, you're an idiot!"
