Quinn's POV
That. Smell. How can a smell make me want to drive off a cliff and jump for joy at the same time. I can hear the smell. Taunting me. Teasing me. Just begging me to come to it. But I can't. As of right now I was in the middle of Mr. Davis's famous spiel about how deodorant is important. It is, but I think I got the point already because she's told it to us about 6 times.
I took in a deep breath. Remnants of the smell still lingered in the air making me go even crazier. As the day went on I felt myself watching my sanity slip through my fingers.
During lunch I met up with Gaby and grabbed myself a sub par piece of pizza from the school cafeteria.
"What's wrong?" Gaby inquired. "You have been acting odd the whole day..." I have always wanted to tell Gaby I was a werewolf but I was afraid. what if she became scared of me? what if she did feel safe being with me anymore? All of my doubts secured my decision to never tell her. It pains me to keep something this big from her but I'm doing this for both of our own good.
"Nothing, I just got my period and it hurts like hell." I lied smoothly.
"Ewwwww girl stuff." Jake suddenly squealed putting his hands to his ears. "I don't want to hear about that stuff."
Gaby ignored Jake and continued to talk to me. "Ohh that sucks. You want to go to the nurse?"
"I think I can make -" I cut myself off. The smell. It was closer than ever. I turned my head and saw an unfamiliar face staring back at me and damn, it was a good looking face.
Gaby looked into my line of vision and then spoke. "That's the new guy. It's his first day. I think his name is Darren... D... Derek? Yeah Derek!"
I softly growled hearing his name. Mine. How dare she say his name like that.
Wait what. Why would I say that.
Jake voiced his thoughts agains saying, "He got expelled from Faxtrough Institute for some reason. He won't say."
We kept our eyes on each other before he turned away to sit next to his new found friends. Why isn't he coming to me? Doesn't he realize we are mates? I felt hurt but I understand that some people are that open with their affection.
As the blob of students made it out of the cafeteria I followed Derek. Ugh. Even his name is sexy.
I kept my eye on him and then suddenly he walked into the Janitors closet. What? I slowly approached the door fidgeting, as I grasped the handle.
I moved it a fraction of a millimeter before the door was swung open with a loud "swoosh" and a hand shot out grabbing my waist and then pinning me to the wall right next to the stickiest mop that I have even seen.
"Why are you stalking me?" He whispered, staring into my eyes.
Due to the position we were in my brain wasn't really functioning all that well. All I managed to spit out was a flustered, "No! I.. I.. not stalking... following?"
He let go of me - much to my disappointment and straightened out my shirt for me. "What's your name sweet cheeks?"
"Um" He stared at me. Shit. What's my name? "Quinn."
"You sure?" He chuckled. Since we were in such proximity I felt the vibrations of his laugh and damn. I could only nod.
"I'm Derek."
