I've woken up, but by now I know that my first exposures of light won't be from a blinding light above an examination bed.
This time, it's from the soft rays of sunlight peaking in from behind the curtains.
I stretched my arms out and yawned ever so quietly.
Opening my eyes, I was thankful to see the woman next to me.
I took in every beautiful feature of her face: her delicate narrow nose, thin lips, those tender, tender, ebony eyes.
I smiled and placed a kiss on her forehead. Getting up, I already knew what I'd be doing. I'd take a shower, dress, and make her breakfast.

"Good morning, Mr. Greene," a chirpy voice greeted as I entered the building.
"Good morning to you, Ms. Diaz," I saluted.
She laughed. "Just Darcy will suffice."
I smirked while slipping on my coat. "And Tanner will do."

This pill worked wonders. The last of its kind was hidden in the infamous Doctor Davenport's wheelchair five years ago.
We've found a way to reproduce it, and ship it out to other countries and states. Apparently, Missouri wasn't the only state to produce illegal clones. There were other clones around the world with either no abilities, or abilities such as: strength, mind manipulation, energy banks, facial metamorphosis, molding objects with the mind, mind-reading, and more.
Anne May continues to take ability-compressor pills for "energy bank". Darcy doesn't take any ACP, since her abilities aren't that dangerous or powerful.
Today, and for the rest of my days, I am dedicating my life to stop illegal reproduction of clones. The world is not ready for our powers. Humans will abuse these abilities.
Clones have gone to elite underground summit meetings to share ideas about this. Our most intelligent clones acknowledged that humans can not hold these new mental capacities or abilities. We've agreed to stay alive, but without producing more clones from labs.
The generation of clones will not end here, however. Along with the human hardware implanted in our brains since the very first cloning, we've still got human instincts of survival. Clones may only reproduce in natural ways. Clones may reproduce with humans, as long as that human does not reveal our secret.
Captors shall remain in use. Darcy is our laboratory's Head Captor, and she is one of the highest in power of all Captors in the U.S.
Captors are not in charge of kidnapping innocent people. Captors are our spies. If a human runs away with our secret and we feel threatened with the fear that they may expose our existence to the world, Captors will capture them.
No, we won't experiment on them. Nor will we torture them. We'll simply do it the classic way: brainwash them.
This is precisely what the Captors did to a former scientist when he regained consciousness five years ago. His name was Ruben.
Never would I have imagined that I would be stepping into this building again and wearing a lab coat. And the lab coat is not a disguise this time, it's my uniform.
Except I don't regret it. I don't regret anything. I was born a clone. A clone of who? Perhaps I'll find out in a decade or two. For now, my sole duty is to protect our identities and safety.
Surely clones will mix with pure humans. They'll never know. If they do find out, it'll be too late. We've already risen.
Humanity will just have to share the world with their creations.
