Prologue

I kept trying to pry the bars apart, knowing that I needed to escape. 

I was not sure who or what I was running from, but something was telling me I needed to leave this place and find the others.

Others? Who were these, "others?" 

Never mind that. I have to muster all the strength I know I possess, but for some reason, the bars do not move much. All I left was a little dent, not even close to the space needed for me to slip through.

"Come on, Brianna!" a woman's voice screamed to me, "You are stronger than this! You can do this!"

"I can't!" I screamed back, tears forming in my eyes, "It's too fucking hard! This is all the strength I have! I can't do this!"

"You can!" the voice encouraged, "Just keep pushing! Prove to yourself that you can do this! You have the strength!"

I stopped, trying to give myself a moment to catch my breath. The voice was right. I have all the strength needed to save myself and these "others" I keep thinking of. However, a part of me wanted to drop right then and there, accept my fate...whatever it was.

No.

I got back up and began to pry the bars apart again, but this time, they moved, giving me a chance to make an opening to allow me to go through.

"Yes, Brianna!" the voice said, "You've done it! Now, go! Save the others!"

"Who are these others?" I said, "Who am I rescuing?"

As I was about to get an answer, I heard a horn honking....
