Hanji sat, curled up in the dark corner of her cell. How many days had it been? Four, five now? Hanji had lost all hope that anyone was going to come for her.
While out on an expedition, her group had gotten separated. Hanji managed to survive on her for a few days, even with her ODM gear broken. One night though, that all changed. While she was asleep, bandits ambushed her. They took her captive and were planning on selling her. Hanji knew that since she had overheard the boss talking with someone. Apparently, the boss thought they could get a good price for her. Hanji could've escaped had it not been for the fact that the boss had broken her right leg. It was strategic move, it meant they didn't have to keep her tied up, just locked in her cage until it was time to bring her out for sale. Hanji's hands and arms had been badly cut up from trying to claw her way out of the stone cell. Her glasses were cracked, she was hungry, thirsty and in pain. Her captors had maybe fed her once or twice this whole time.

"Hanji is not dead!" Levi yelled banging his fists on the table.
"No one has seen her for several days Levi," Erwin said.
"The signs aren't good. Her group was found dead a day ago and there was no sign of her."
"SHE'S NOT DEAD." Levi yelled.
"There is no way someone like her would die that easy."
"Levi, you have to look at what we know," Erwin said.
It hurt him too, Hanji and he were good friends. Erwin didn't want her to be dead but all the signs pointed to it.
"Screw you." Levi growled.
"I'm going to find her myself."
"Levi!" Erwin said.
He grabbed his shoulder as Levi walked to the door. Levi whipped around and punched Erwin square in the jaw.
"Do not try and stop me," Levi said.
Erwin sighed and let him go.
"I'm going to find you Hanji," Levi thought.
"This I promise you."
Erwin watched out of his office window as Levi raced out towards the forest on horseback.
"If she's alive...bring her back," Erwin said.

Footfalls echoed through the dark. Hanji shielded her eyes as bright light from several torches flooded her dark cell.
"It's your time girl," the boos said.
"N-no!" Hanji cried.
She tried to run but collapsed on the ground.
"Pathetic," the boss said.
Hanji tried to crawl away. The boss delivered a swift kick to her stomach. Hanji coughed and curled up.
"Boss, we can't hurt her too much more," one of the other bandits said.
"The price will drop."
"Very true," the boss replied.
He grabbed Hanji's hair and pulled her up. Hanji whimpered and tried to pull his hands away, still fighting even though she was weak and injured.
"Enough of this," the boss growled.
He roughly shoved Hanji to the ground.
"Bind and gag her," the boss said.
"And for added measure, blindfold her."
Hanji backed into a corner as many tall, dark figures surrounded her.
"P-please...leave me alone," she cried.
-------------
Levi tracked all the signals Hanji had left behind.
"She's alive, I knew it," he thought.
Levi looked around.
"Where are you four-eyes..." he muttered.
All the signs pointed to the fact that she was close by. Just then, Levi heard a carriage and voices.
~~~~~~~~~~
"She'll get us a nice price at the auction!"
"For sure! She's not rare like the Orientals, but she is a good-looking creature. Her glasses are kind of a hindrance though."
"Ah, but I'm sure the buyers could look past that, she's young, pretty and I'm sure she'll make a good servant or whatever."
"Whoever gets her will have to keep her gagged or teach her to be quiet. Remember when we first saw her? She was blabbering about titans! Can you believe that!?"
~~~~~~~~~~
Anger burned in Levi's eyes. These men were talking about Hanji. He jumped into action.
-------------
Hanji had accepted her fate by now. If no one had rescued her yet, then they weren't going to. Everyone probably thought she was dead and why would anyone come to save a dead girl...
