Demi - Los Angeles
Over the past few days, I had come to the conclusion that Dallas and Eddie wouldn't forgive me for what I had done. Not now, not ever. It was one of the few consequences I would have to deal with, for the rest of my life. But at least I still had Maddie and mom.
"You need to stop being so horrible to Demetria and get your ass in the car now, Dallas."
"Mom!" I cried, trying to prevent her from making this anymore difficult than it needed to be. "Sorry Dallas." I smiled weakly at her, with my head out of the car, bringing it back in and winding the window back up and glaring at mom. Mom sighed in defeat and returned to her driver seat and began driving.
"I'm just trying to help, Demz."
"I know you are, but you're not. Let her be mad at me. I sure as hell would be mad at me if I were any of you." I tried to sound understanding, but my voice was failing me, making me sound weak.
"Oh sweetheart." She placed her hand on mine, which I smiled at.The car ride to what would be my new home for the next 'while' was certainly lengthy. I couldn't tell if mom was upset about me moving or if it was just the awkward silence that hung gloomily among us. But the long awkward car trip felt almost worth it when we arrived at the tall, modern buildings that were 'sober homes'. We made our way up the tall stairs to my apartment where all my stuff had been placed for me. The grounds were quite the masterpiece, each shrub and hedge sculpted to its perfect shape, for the end of winter. I wasn't ever really one to stop and smell the roses in the past, but I felt that now I had come out of Timberline Knolls, I would be a completely different person, in the best way possible.
A pretty girl with light brown hair sat at the bench at a bar stool eating a bowl of lucky charms, she quickly dropped her spoon and stood up, dusting off her white top, even though there wasn't any crumbs on her. A wide grin appearing on her face, showing off her perfectly straight, white teeth.
"Hi, I'm Cordelia!" The perfect girl approached me, wrapping her arms around me. "I'll be your roommate while we are here." She smiled.
"I'm.. I'm Demi." I managed, my anxiety acting up.
"Hi Demi, do you want some cereal?" She giggled and returned to her seat.
"No thanks. Um, which room is mine?" I hadn't noticed until now that mom wasn't at my side anymore.
"Oh! Right, I'm sorry. I'll show you." She stood again, grabbing my hand and pulling me down a hallway to the very end and stopping abruptly, causing me to run into her which she giggled at. "Here!"
She swung the door open, revealing a small room with a single bed and all of my stuff in boxes.
"If you need anything, I'll be just out here." She giggled once more, before leaving me to unpack and settle.Once I was along, I was left to ponder my thoughts. Again, all that swarmed and hung smugly around my mind was Rose. She left me too fast. We were going to make it. We were going to be happy. We were going to be healthy.
Now, though;
I was the only one who had potential to make it. I was the only one who had potential to be happy. I was the only one who had potential to be healthy.
And it was my goal to achieve these potentials for Rose, and to help other people who felt as low as we did find the will and help they needed to make it too.➳
hiiii nerds
