Did my parents know ?

When I called my mother to pick me up in the middle of the day
When my father saw me crying sitting on my bed
When I came back from school not saying a word
When I said to them "people are mean with me"
They didn't see
Because I didn't show
Because I was too ashamed
Because I thought myself too weak
Oh child, how wrong you were
