Scars

Eggshell

A chick inside an eggshell waiting to hatch,
"Will it be a wonderful world?", she asked,
She was excited but she was also scared,
Will the world welcome her or will they throw stones at her?

She was happy when the egg cracked,
It was time for her to rock,
But when she opened her eyes and saw The world she went back to her eggshell feeling unprepared,

The other chicks were confused,
"Why is she there?", they asked,
"Maybe she's scared.", they laughed.

Some approached her,
some didn't care about her,
some pitied her,
but all she can feel is the darkness inside the eggshell.

She wanted to go out,
"but is it too late now?" she asked.
she put her right foot slowly outside,
"one step at a time." she said.

"Hello again world." she said.
She raised her head up high,
welcoming the sun's bright light.
