he had a lead.he had a fucking lead.
jacob showered for the first time in god knows how long today, he was even up before two o'clock in the afternoon. once he heard the memo troye sent him he knew that there had to be some way he was alive.
jacob felt alive too. he had forgotten what hot water felt like and what an actual meal felt like (he had been drinking all kinds of energy drinks). hari was happy to see him walking around, even if it was because he found something that might help him find troye. it was something and that's all that matters.
although he couldn't help but feel like even if he did find troye that he would hate him. troye was takes and put through god knows what for two years and jacob never came close to finding him.
until now.
he barged into the local police station, a few cops turn there heads and roll there eyes. at the start of the whole troye situation jacob spent day in and day out here. he needed to hear everything thing that the cops were talking about and insisted on helping in the search. but when days turned into weeks, and then months, then years... that's when they called it quits.
but not jacob.
"i need to speak with the best detective you have." he says.
what he assumed was the sheriff at the time rolled his eyes and threw down his clipboard. "snow," he yelled. "someone wants to see ya."
no one responds.
"sno-!"
a girl smaller than jacob on all aspects comes running up. he noticed she had some stuff on her wrist but the girl, snow, pulled her sleeve down before jacob could say anything.
"wanted to see me sir?" she says side eyeing jacob.
he smacks his lips. "bixenman wants to see you." he says before walking away.
snow turned around. "follow me," she says.
she begins to smaller her way through the station, jacob having to jog a few times to catch up. for a small girl she moves fast.
"my name is samantha snow," she says. "you may call me detective snow, snow or, detective... we're aren't on a first name bases. i take what i do seriously so don't come here with useless shit... that's not what i get paid for. any questions?"
by now they were in what jacob assumed was her office. the taller man look snow over before sitting down. "they say your the best detective around here?"
snow shrugs. "names a name."
"then how come you could find troye mellet, surely something like that could've been easy."
she leans against the desk. "don't push it hun, i wasn't here for that case, i was called over after they marked him dead, if that's why you're here then-."
"i have a voice message," jacob says. "it was from the night he was taken."
snow raises an eyebrow. "really eh, play it."
jacob plays it and as he does he watches snow's face. it was hard to read, her brows were knitted together and she was constantly wringing her hands.
"fifth and main," she says before scribbling something on a pad of paper. "his phone should be there, i'll go and take a look later."
jacob scoffed. "that's it?"
"i have cases that are in progress right now. not something that was closed a year ago.... i'll take a look later." she says.
jacob scoffs before getting up and leaving. once snow felt as if he was gone she pulled a phone out of her desk.
"it's me," she says on the dial tone was done. "i'm gonna need a favor."
