Here at camp, there is a wacky tradition of having a summertime ball on a Friday night in July. Well, it fell on this week.

Becca had nobody to go with and really she wanted to just go and hang out. On the other hand, Cody was going with Ashley. Nobody knows if they are dating are not but they flirt all of the time and it's just... gross.

Anyways, Becca was to go alone and Cody with Ashley. The last week was completely normal with Becca and Cody even though they couldn't deny what happened earlier that month. Today, Thursday, the day before the ball, was special around the camp. All of the campers buzzed about staying later the next day and what they were going to wear, who they were going with, just the normal stuff basically. Even Becca was excited, which she normally wasn't but this time she was counselor so she gets to go to the after party.

"So, who you going to the ball with?" Cody asked.

"Nobody, me, myself, and I."

"Hmm," he said in a curious manner.

"Why?"

"I don't know. Just wondering."

"What's our next activity?"

"Archery."

"Hey, this time, don't be distracted making out with Ashley."

"What???"

"You know what I mean," she said and walked off guiding the campers to the range.

Becca's POV

They flirted, and flirted, and flirted, and flirted some more. Like, why? She sits over there and giggles at every single word he says. It's so... disturbing. And I am not the only one who notices it; the campers do too!

He could do better, that's all I am saying. Tomorrow though, I am wearing a white dress that has a hard "breast plate" and it poofs out into a white fabric dress. There is a golden twirl pattern that's on the breast plate. The skirt is not extremely poofy but it extends out with just plain white. In the back it is backless. It is awesome and I got it for $40. What a deal!

I woke up at 6:25 am and I read my phone.

Cody: hey

Becca: Yes

Cody: wanna ride?

Becca: Why not? It'll save me gas.

Cody: im outside.

Becca: You're a creep

Cody: whatever

I threw on some shorts and a camp shirt, grabbed my dress and shoes, and hurried out the door. I looked out to see Cody parked in his red Mustang convertible.

"Hot!" I thought to herself. Wait, what? And since when did he own a convertible?

"Yo," I said as she got in the car.

"Hey."

"Where did you get this?"

"Dad."

"Ah," I said forgetting that his dad was an antique car collector. Once they got to camp, I quickly glanced over to see Ashley's face, which had an unreadable expression, and I got out of the vehicle as fast as she could.

"He's in trouble," I muttered.
