"You have Intro to Business first and Calculus 1 right after."
I nod my head into the face camera at Bryce on the other side. "You have Chemistry 1, Calculus 1, and then Intro to Engineering," I speak into my headphones. Bryce says "yep" before waving at somebody. "Remember to text me throughout the day before our FaceTime date tonight." I reply, "I will," as I arrive at the building of my first class.
"I love you baby and have a great first day." Bryce winks at me in the camera and I just smile. "I love you too and have fun." We both hang-up and I walk into the building. I find my class in seconds considering I walked this entire campus when I landed.
The auditorium type classroom is completely full. I notice that most students' first-day outfits are off the charts. Make-up is fully done and flawless, while the clothes are dresses and skirts. I did the complete opposite. I'm wearing a red cropped hoodie, black skinny jeans, white Converse, and my black North Face backpack.
I sit in the lower section of the auditorium, in the middle row. "Excuse me," I say walking behind a group of guys. When I sit in the seat next to them, they all turn to look at me.
"The only girl that didn't dress-up for the first day. I can tell you are serious." I turn my head at the guy with caramel skin and curly hair. "I didn't know you could tell the seriousness of my education by how I look." His friends make little noises, while he just smiles at me.
"That's true. I'm Jordan. This is Ian and Xavier." They each give me a small wave. "I'm Cahlia, but you can call me Lia." The guys and I start talking about our different classes. Turns out we have most of our class together. "I guess we can get lunch after Math and before English," Ian says and we all agree.
"Hey, boys." The seductive, but annoying voice, catch all our attention. I don't know the blonde or brunet girl, but I do spot Makayla, one of my roommates. Makayla is incredibly pretty, but she is also very rude. She doesn't talk to Sam, my other roommate, or me. She's constantly saying smart remarks and taking digs.
If I wouldn't have matured in high school, I swear I would fight her.
Still might.
"Umm, who is this rando?" The blonde girl eyes me, along with her posse. I ignore her rudeness and say "I'm Lia. And you are?" The girl's eyes furrow as if she's insulted that I don't know her.
"I'm Kelsey Jones. My dad practically owns this school with how many donations he has given. This is Devon Montgomery and she can basically buy your life." The group of girls laugh at what Kelsey says. I pretend to think of who she is, but Sam has already told me about her. "Makayla, isn't this your lame roommate?" Devon asked. "Sadly, yes," Makayla responds. I roll my eyes at her and she does the same. "Well, we just wanted to say hi," Kelsey says. The boys nicely smile and say "hi."
